  1. Aw ...not silly at all, Gary! That they thrive, bespeaks their love for each other That you so eloquently enshrined them, bespeaks your talent

    Prologue

Yes, Uncle Neil, where will you take us? A great beginning!
  3. Thanks Def! Sam takes his friendship with David seriously. That's for sure. What will it take to snap Twoey out of this hypnotic love haze? Time? But then it will be too late for him. And speaking of too late, the symptoms you pointed out put David right on the edge of 'too late.' Something better happen in Dr. K's office.
  4. Thanks jess! David and his dad. Maybe there was a clueless gene than got passed along? I don't think Sam likes to meddle. Remember Danny and Sam talking when Gary and Nels were hatching their little plot to horsey-force David and Kathy together. But he must have realized how serious this was and so came up with one of his usual clever solutions.
  5. Thanks Parker! Yeah, we thought we were done with all the ominousness when the curtain fell on the "Church of Everybody's Going to Hell." But, in different ways, both our little heroes are in deep trouble. Well, they have a whole 22 days to get it all worked out. Unless they fail.
  6. Thanks CG! Ginny does seem to be a little distracted. She has a book tour coming up, maybe that's it. (we haven't been told that yet.) Danny has been warning David that time is running out and he wants to help his friend. He'll keep trying, but this is a big issue for David, so the jury is out on whether or not he will be successful.
  7. Thanks spikey! You're right. Sam's mother should have contacted David's father. But Sam took matters into his own hands and did it the way he figured would get the results. I agree about Twoey, but it's probably going to take a striking event to snap him out of his love haze.
  8. Thanks Lux! Sometimes Sam collects data and sometimes he acts. I think he knew simply urging David to see the Doc wasn't gonna work! Twoey -- sigh -- what can I say?
  9. Thanks Tim! Yeah, Sam has David read pretty well. And it got the job done.
  10. A wise man sees as much as he ought, not as much as he can. - Michel de Montaigne *** Twoey On the ride to school, I mentioned to Erik that I’ve received a couple of missed calls from David. He snapped. “Why is he trying to call you?” “I don’t know. Maybe I’ll get a chance to talk to him in math.” “Well whatever you do, don’t forget today is Wednesday and we’re sorta busy after practice.” He was grinning at me. “Don’t worry. I can't wait either.” Erik is so attentive. He act
  11. Sooo ...what is really behind all the trouble? Was it David's first, apparently not well-hidden, appreciation of Rain? Mike's guilty-jealousy or, perhaps, jealous-guiltiness? David's second, definitely not well-hidden, appreciation of Rain? David's refusal to leave when Mike requested/demanded? OK ...everything's a little screwed up here. David should have gone home the minute he found out Mike did. Not to obediently follow him, but to get it -- whatever "it" is --- out in the open. A great chapter Lux, in that it portrayed the party and alcohol-fueled behavior and reactions really well. We could feel everything slurpily slipping as though we were there. Having been there, I can attest to that.
  12. At first I was a little put off with Tomas's breaking everything down into logical arguments. I thought, "Is this what intelligent scholars do to have a good time?" But then, slowly, the clever author had Tomas win me over as the chapter went from irritating through sweet to fulfilling. Nicely done, you sly fox! Thank You, Parker, for continuing this lovely story!

    Chapter 12

There certainly is a lot of analysis bouncing around this page! Why couldn't what happened have been simple and logical? 1. Jackson was afraid of being with Luke today. 2. His friends gave him the perfect "escape." 3. ERGO - He went with his friends. The behavior of every other character was exactly normal (for the character), like them or not. Trouble ahead? Sure.
  14. Wow! Excellent story, and well written. Even though we knew what was coming all the way, it was a compelling read. (I hope you have more in your pen!) Thank You for sharing!

    Brotherly love

Crap! Visions of Russ and Evan in jocks, big handsome vikings, leftover dancing and pole dancing from before ...now, how the hell am I ever going to get to sleep tonight? Seriously, an altogether enchanting little chapter with Kristin thrown in (?) to boot! Thanks for this. Well, wait till tomorrow, then I'll know for sure if I wake up rested. Jocks! Sheesh!

    Chapter 18

Thank you so much for this wonderful little story, Ron! Besides being sort of relevant today, it was incredibly warm and kind-hearted -- without ever becoming sappy. Well done!
  17. Anything I write should be able to stand on its own. It should resist being diminished by either of the aforementioned genre. If it doesn't, then guess what? -- it wasn't able to stand on its own, and I will have learned from the experience. I thoroughly enjoy parody. In fact, it's in much of what I write -- although not of any GA literature, to my conscious knowledge. Watch out Tim! Be wary of any new fiction from me entitled The Wurst Maker and the Wurzel Baker
  18. Wow CG! It's been so long I had to read all the chapters again. Stay healthy, dammit! Anyway, back to the story. This was a very warm chapter, even though they're on Mars. I also enjoyed the little reminiscences and mind-blowing contemplation of the genetic possibilities. Good work! Now I'm waiting for more, of course.

    Eyes

Thanks Gary! I can understand your interpretation. Love IS scary.
  20. Thanks for reading, AC! And you're correct. Our young poet-to-be is very frustrated.
  21. Thanks for reading jess! Yeah, unfortunately there are over 20,000 GA members who haven't discovered '18 Weeks'
  22. Thanks for reading Def! More poetry? Dragons have trouble writing poetry.
  23. Thank you for reading and commenting Gary! David takes a loooong time to follow through
  24. Thank you for reading tim. Grrr! Dragons never back down!

    Chapter 11

I think Lux has highlighted a lot of Devin's complex feelings. I can understand all that. Who I am not too sure about is Bryce. What exactly are his intentions? If he is simply using Devin, especially since he sees how vulnerable Devin is right now, then he is not good people and definitely not good for Devin, except as a lesson; an example of someone to avoid in the future.
