    I found it - so far anyway - on Amazon.ca (I’m in Canada) and it says it removes rust, so you can paint. I was just thinking yesterday the porch railings need to be painted again, but what to do about the rust? Can I just paint it over or do I need to get it off first? If I need to remove it, it looks like this stuff will be just the ticket. So, thanks for the tip. Need to do more research to see what else it does.

    My mom tried that as well, and nope, it didn’t work either. I did read about using bleach (water to bleach ratios varied) and it did say repeated applications might be necessary, but it’s been two to three times now with nary a difference, though I think that’s partly due to the problem not being dealt with when it first appeared. Though, with my dad being sick last year caring for the garden (his domain) went by the wayside which allowed the lichen to take hold and multiply. I’m prepared to do this more than once with the water and detergent + scrubbing, but I hope to see some improvement the first time around,

    I started brushing my teeth early in the evening because I didn’t want to be suddenly wide awake at bedtime. The lightbulb only went off a bit ago that it would help in the early evening “I need to sleep” struggle.

    I seem to have a very tired (bone deep tired) moment in the evening, where I desperately want to put my head back and sleep. I know if I do that, I’ll sleep enough so that I wake up, and can’t sleep for the night. One thing I’ve found helps when this happens is to brush my teeth. Peppermint is supposed to wake you up like chamomile and/or lavenders is supposed to help you sleep/fall asleep. I don’t think my toothpaste is peppermint, but it is some kind of mint, and I have to say, it really does wake me up - a second wind as it were. Don’t know if that would work for you, but it’s worth a try.

    The power washer isn’t being very helpful with the black spot lichen - and wouldn’t you know it all the products for black spot lichen are sold in the UK. I have a plan - soap, warm water, and good old-fashioned elbow grease. I’ll report back as to the success- or failure - of said plan.

    We’ve tried the pressure washer but it’s not touching the black spot lichen that’s covering half the patio. I did use a scrub brush in one spot to test, and that worked. So far, I’m looking at a bucket of warm water and mild dish soap as a viable option. Train’s in the forecast today, so I’m going to try this tomorrow.

    Didn’t realize we were so quiet. I guess it’s just one of those days. Right now, I’m researching products to clean a brick - not sure what the bricks are made of - patio. There’s a lot out there, but with commenters having such varied successes, it’s hard to know what’s good and what isn’t.

    One thing I discovered this summer is that bunnies like to eat dandelions when they are in their cotton ball head stage. So yes, they are kinda pretty in the flower stage, but they also bring bunnies for a visit, so they aren’t all that bad, imo.

    July was really, really hot and humid to the point I think a record was set. Just this past week and looking into next week, the temperature has really dropped. It’s in the 60s right now with the highest forecasted temp being only only 81F. Not that I’m complaining mind you. I’m not a fan of AC air, so this temp drop is a good thing in my book.

    Don’t remind me. Then again, I have found I like gardening after all, so weeding isn’t so bad. We actually needed rain, because the ground was so hard it was difficult to pull weeds even using a gardening fork to break the earth. Once the earth dries a bit, I shouldn’t have any problems pulling up weeds - I hope.

    I thought the stormy weather was done for the day, but the big rumble of thunder is saying ‘nope, not done yet’. Ah well, the grass and the flowers will be happy...

    Good evening, Starry. *waves* Im reading cheese doodles (need to remember this one ) at the moment. So far so good, so I’m hoping that doesn’t change. We had the big rain with thunder earlier and then again a bit ago. The sun is out, so I’m hoping the rain is done for the day.

    Looked outside and saw the cutest bunny in the garden. Be nice if he was eating the clover because we’ve got lots of it.
