    Chapter 22

Thank you so much for the wonderful complement! I'm so glad you are enjoying it--well, maybe not so much enjoying the subject, but you know what I mean, hehe. I've actually had others PM me asking me to save Devyn too!

    Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Jason's hand shook as he pulled out his phone. The officers had left fifteen minutes ago. Sheriff Marlin had instructed him to wait fifteen minutes before calling Brad and heading back to the estate to give the officers time to get in place like some low-end SWAT team. They were going to attempt sneaking up to the place, hoping that Jason would distract him enough when he arrived at the house for them to make the dash to the house unseen by the outside cameras that Jason was sur

    Chapter 2

Yes, Tears of the Neko is completely updated. And yes, you are very close about Brad. I hope you find All In not too upsetting... It is different from the Neko. But I'll promise you a HEA.

  9. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this story as well. They are very different. Right now I'm using some prompts to write some neko shorts to get me back in the right mindset, so hopefully soon!

    Chapter 21

I can't say much 'cause I don't want to spoil anything! But the next chapter is Jason's POV at the police station, so you won't know about Devyn for another couple chapters--mean, I know! Thanks for reading! (BTW: hope you got your 'following' problem worked out! Cia told me she was contacting you.)

    Chapter 22

Chapter 22 Jason took a deep breath as he stood at the steps to the small building that housed the police station. Clutching the backpack tighter onto his shoulder, he stepped into the building. There was a small reception counter, and behind that were several desks with a few officers sitting around. As he stepped up to the desk, a young woman asked if she could help him. "Uh, yeah," he started uncertainly, "I need to--" His eyes caught sight of Deputy Watson's form across the room. Th
  16. Well, the girls I think were definitely taking advantage of the fact that you can ask for a sample to taste the new flavors. So yeah, harmless, just shockingly bold in my opinion, as I would never want my own kids to do something like that--but who knows, they might, just to test their limits. The man though didn't look destitute at all, in fact, he had a set of big earphones around his neck connected to an ipod, with a leather coat.

    Chapter 21

Chapter 21 "Get your ass in here," Sam shoved him toward the door. The grip on his neck tightened as he tried to move away, hoping to escape to his room. Instead, the hulking man shoved him down the hall toward his stepbrother's study. Nelson and Brad both looked up as Sam dragged him into the room. "What's going on?" Brad narrowed his eyes, and Devyn felt himself just wanting to run out the door. "He doesn't have the backpack," Sam growled, shaking his neck like he would a dog, and D

    Chapter 18

Hehe, I only play a bit of poker myself (hold 'em, mostly, and only for fun) so I hope the poker references aren't too corny in the story. In fact, originally, the story was going to be called Seven Card Stud --the seven being all of Brad's minions--but All In is much better and has many more sly references I can make! Thanks for all the reviews! Hope you enjoy the rest!

    Chapter 20

Definitely finally reaching the climax, but yeah, it's going to get worse before it gets better! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Chapter 20

Yes, we are now reaching the climax! And no, of course it's not going to go as well as Jason hopes; I have to torment my characters just a little longer! Thanks for the review!

    Chapter 20

I know where you are coming from, and you are right (I love your insight and comments!). But Brad probably is going to be suspicious no matter what, since Jason is supposed to stay with Devyn. He's going to keep track of Jason's movements outside the house, no matter when he goes. I think, for Jason, he feels he has to move faster now because he knows what's happening at the 'tutors' and since Devyn goes to them everyday, Jason doesn't want to take Devyn back to them again. But if he continues to do what he did with Natales, it wouldn't take long for Brad to find out. I think that's why he feels he has to do it now, before it gives Brad too much time to figure out what he's doing. And he does think they are playing it cool, I think. By dropping off Devyn, I think Jason believes that Brad can't/won't believe that Devyn knows what Jason is up to--that it will keep Devyn safer (of course he's wrong, but that's besides the point). I'm sorry you're frustrated. I hope that the end doesn't disappoint you, but I also think Jason 'moving slower' and thinking more logically makes for a less exciting ending as well. I mean, I'm sure you know by now that I'm going to torment my characters! Hope you keep reading and it isn't too unrealistic for you.

    All In

Thank you very much! I'm so glad that you enjoy them!
  25. True, and I've seen other kids do similar things. I think it was the adult asking if he could write an IOU for the ice cream that did me in. I think it would have been one thing if he wanted to write and IOU for something necessary--like real food or pampers for his kid or something, but for ice cream? It was just that both of those things happened in the same 30 min.
