While we are on the topic of the friendly Australian animals, I learnt something new today. Male platypuses are only seasonally venomous - apparently it’s all about sexual conquest and beating the other males. Not all year round However there was some bad news if you are one of the very few humans to get injected with the toxin. The serious pain will last for several months and the muscle wasting can last for years and years. A very stable toxin apparently. Aussie animals lead the world

Oh my dear boy… there is a list… Had your Hep shots? Just found out that us over 50s need to look at getting Diphtheria boosters. So you have a few years to go with that one but chat to your doc about what might be appropriate for a young stud like you. Don't know enough about rabies, the Australian microbes killed it off so we are rabies free. Is there a vax for rabies?

Absolutely freezing here. Stupid cold fronts moving through. Max of 10C for about an hour. I went shopping and stayed longer than planned because it was warm there. I’m heading to bed to try and stay sort of warm. Definitely not a winter guy

Hi Terry Cold but no rain or wind today. The wind was quite fierce here but it’s now heading to the east coast. We had some minor flooding on the roads but all good now I think I might make a trip to the laundromat as clothes will not dry in this weather. Not exactly a huge treat but I do like putting on warm socks
