**Kelaste** Central District lay in dead silence when I pulled into the parking garage beneath the building I was living in. The street lights shone artificially white over perfectly clean streets, the only sound the distant humming of the highway. My captor rode shotgun, gun at the ready, watching my profile and simply ignoring the view outside the window for most of the ride. When we pulled into an empty parking spot in the parking lot beneath my building, he held out his free hand, and I dr

Thanks for your review! Morals are always a tricky thing. Is it bad to be angry at someone who hit you with his car and broke your legs, just because it wasn't intentional? It's an interesting dilemma that could be applied thousands of times to any and every situation, and I'm excited to see how this question will work out for Darwin and Darla, and of course for the rest of the pack.
-
Thank you for your review! I honestly don't know when I'll be able to show Darla's true colors, but she is definitely a disturbance of the force. The best intentions sometimes have unhappy consequences, but it's always a matter of will to make things right. I'm unsure if Darwin is able to do that, but we'll see.

Yes, Darla definitely is a wild card. I'm giddy to find out what she'll do next too! She's the one character I just can't plot, but that's what's so exciting about her

~*Darwin*~ After sitting in the shower for what had felt like eons, Darwin suddenly couldn't get out of it fast enough. The feeling of wanting Jared went from being there like a mild after-thought to roaring through his body like a fire storm in the blink of an eye. His overheated skin felt too tight, his cock thickened so quickly he got dizzy from it, and his fingers tingled with anticipation. He couldn't put words to it, but there was no need to. The only need present was that of Darwin touch

Shapeshifter, a, noun (line break: shape|shif|ter) - A mythical creature born with the ability to shift from human to animal shape at will. A shapeshifter has a single animal shape similar to natural wild or mythical animals, that represents a perfect simile to its human shape in age. ~ Almanac of Babylon City **Kelaste** I sighed, breathing in the cool spring air. It was one of those nights, the cold, windy ones, which made me restless, made me leave my safe apartment, made me try

Kelaste DeLargo-Lagrada isn't what you would call a normal person in any way. He isn't even human, but that is the least of his problems as he meets Noom, mercenary extraordinaire, and the one person standing between him and certain death. The only question is: Who would want to kill a miserable, unimportant and alltogether broken young man, and to what purpose?

The thinking-part is the fun of it. The writing is the sucky work. If anyone ever thinks of a machine that manages to transcribe ideas into words, he/she is rich, and we're out of work. I usually pick "Write" as a daily goal. As soon as I decide on more than that, like how many words I want to write, I'm stuck and start to browse youtube. It's over when you get to youtube. Or Google picture search. Over. OVER. ... cat gifs! <3

Ha, that's easily explained. In Guam they speak English but still have a rather tropical climate, so I wouldn't have to learn a new language to get around. Pittsburg, the "Iron City", was chosen because I literally live in Eisenstadt, which means "Iron City", and it has excellent crime statistics and moderate housing prices. At least it had when I last checked 3 years ago. I really don't like what Hollywood does to a person, and I'm not interested in (outwardly) beautiful, famous or rich people... or people who try to become one of "them". New York on the other hand is too crowded and dark for my tastes. I don't like skyscrapers, and I couldn't tolerate so many tall buildings this close together. It blocks out the sun and it makes the streets smell funny because of the strange air circulation between all those flat surfaces. ... I could go on if you'd like to read the whole extent of my crazy

I'm from Austria and I like it here, but if I ever have the chance I'll try to move to the US (Guam or Pittsburgh to be exact), New Zealand or Costa Rica. I'm feeling so much fernweh* it's not even funny anymore. *fernweh is a German word meaning the opposite of home sickness. The hurting need to go somewhere, anywhere else.

~*Darwin*~ Through all the shock, the pain and the last remnants of fear Darwin's mind had huddled into a tight ball around one simple problem: why the hell wasn't Jared touching him anymore? The glorious jock usually never hesitated to use any and every chance to paw him whenever he felt like it, but now he seemed actually frightened to do so. Had Darwin been too snappy in that gas station bathroom? Or maybe his wolf had driven Jared away, just as promised. Whatever the reason, Darwin could s

Aaah why did I click on the link! I wanted to wait for at least one more before I continued reading, because this is such fun! I love the pacing and the characters, and every time a chapter ends I can't think of anything but "what's going to happen next?". Makes me giddy with excitement

Wow, Kim is one patient puppy I love the character development so far, because there are flaws to be noticed on both of them. My soft spot for anti-heroes approves!

Thank your for your review! November took it out of me, but I'm working on the last 1k of words for the next chapter. I promise it will be here before christmas -
Thank you! It always makes me grin like an idiot to hear that people like my story, it's very much appreciated! The next chapter will have to wait about 2 week though, the writing month has hit me hard. I'll do my best!

a journey into the unknown

Thank you for your review! To answer your questions:Who's to say if Rayne and Harry are mates? Right now they just seem to fit well, but that doesn't mean anything Harry is from the dust belt, some small heap of rural houses, and he just left to study. It was mentioned somewhere in part 2 I think! In the last part Jared told Darwin he should change to quicken his healing, which Darwin didn't do. This time he did change, and yes, he healed much more quickly thanks to it. I bet a lot of people are wondering why everyone thinks Darwin's wolf is crazy, but I promise to answer this. I just didn't reach the point where I can show a "normal" werwolf in wolf shape yet, we'll get there. Darla ran first to, then from 'a' scene, the one she could see from the entrance of the dorm, which was men fighting and firing a gun. She didn't see what happened in the back alley, so she didn't know. The problem with crazy people - especially in writing - is, that it's quite hard to show what they think, and how they think. I've been fighting with Carl for 5 chapters, but I'm not yet at the point where I just tell, I'm still trying to let his actions speak. And yes, Jared and Darwin have hit another bump in their road. I will try to keep the melodrama to a minimum -
~*Jared*~ He had been thrown into the cellar unceremoniously, like a sack of potatoes. Harry tried to dampen his fall with his own body, but somehow Jared managed to dodge his crouching form and not land on the floor, though it must have looked quite inelegant. The door fell shut behind him, his captors were moving up the stairs again. "Jar--" Harry began, but Jared shushed him viciously. Only when the second door on the upper end of the stairs fell shut he looked at Harry and smiled with re

~*Jared*~ Brushes and branches slapped against his body, leaving bloody scratches on his unprotected face. Leaves rustled whenever they took a turn or crossed one of the small clearings where the surrounding trees had grown so high that nothing would grow underneath their shadow. Jared could hear Darwin's labored breath right behind him, trying to keep up with the unforgiving pace he had set. He felt thick droplets of sweat rolling down the ridge of his spine, coating his shirt and the rims of

That's easy - just go to http://nanowrimo.org and sign up. There you create a novel you want to write all through November, and update your word count ever so often. The goal is to reach 50,000 words or any other number you decide for yourself in one month. Writing is the goal, so you just type away without thinking too much.

I couldn't find a thread for this anywhere, so I'll start! This year I've joined the NaNoWriMo, anyone else? I need to add buddies to feel loved and worth something *grin* Also, place your widget here!

Yeah, sorry for that break It always happens around 10k, I look for a good moment, then some cruel sentence jumps at me and I just cut there. Next one on the 8th!

~*Carl*~ Curling his upper lip into a snarl, Carl rammed the shovel into the sandy ground and heaved another pile of dirt out of the hole he was digging. Dark memories always made him moody, but he couldn't stop them from coming again and again. Carl's mind had never been stable, but it had totally crashed and crumbled after what he used to call "the wife-incident". Everything had been alright as long as his late Beta, George, had been there, second-guessing every order Carl gave, making

I Can't Believe That This Happened In Canada
metajinx commented on wildone's blog entry in wildone's Blog
Just recently I heard that Canada has one of the most specialized and best trained special forces units in the world. Give your country some credit, you may be unprepared for terrorism inside your own borders, but you're not stranded with this at all.- 11 comments

I've read book one and book two in one go with nothing to distract me. The characters are so natural and well made, it feels very, very real, disturbingly so. Although it's too close to reality for my tastes (reality is hurtful and depressing), I couldn't stop reading until I was finished, but I also couldn't stop myself from choosing sides. I feel very, very sorry for River. He's the one who's really alone. He has to carry all the burdens, maybe he chooses to carry them with force sometimes, but he still carries them. And when he finally breaks down beneath all that emotional clutter, nobody helps him up. Instead he gets criticised and told how wrong his deeds are, and yes, maybe they are, but what the hell? Was it really that unreasonable to say just one or two encouraging words to him? And in the end he gets stomped on again, this time by Silver, and to save the relationship River has to bend. It's always River who bends so other people can be happy. It stinks. Poor River has been given the role of Atlas. You see what you did? I'm getting all worked up over fiction!

Thanks! I'm a sucker for character evolvement, so prepare for more stupidity and emotional outbursts ^^
