  1. I'm excited, to tell you the truth. I needed something to spice up my writing life. The novel I'm working on is stressful, because of how emotionally attached to it I am. It's good to have another outlet.
  2. Each drop is a story, A line, a verse, a memory. They collect in puddles, Becoming quite muddled, Beyond our sensory; Each puddle an allegory.
  3. I just whipped one up. I kind of like it, considering how little time I spent on it. I'm going to add it to "Musings of a Mongoose".
  4. Nice. I think I could do this, as long as free verse counts. NaNoWriMo is what started me as a writer, so I suppose I should give its sibling a chance.
  5. You must have gotten it from me. I was just letting you know you had options.
  6. I'm probably not supposed to say this, so I'll let the blog do it for me. There's always the Kindle version. https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/blog/622/entry-16126-from-the-cup-of-the-worthless-now-available-on-kindle/
  7. Those are excellent questions. I can think of a couple of points in the chapters ahead which will go a long way in shedding light on that matter, and I think you'll find the result reasonable. Whether or not you'll expect it is another matter entirely. My favorite part of chapter 17 will be one of these, and part of chapter 22 as well. Though, now that I think about it, chapter 16 will also have a bearing on that. The good thing, I think, is the criminals are all willing to accept Viktor as part of their group, despite knowing his goals and aspirations. Perhaps there's room to meet in the middle between their various worlds? Or maybe he'll pull them to his world? Or maybe Viktor will give in and join the gangsters? There are many paths still available.
  8. That's a good question, isn't it. What do the rest of you think? Sakazuki, the sake sharing ceremony, is the basis of this story. Everything is centered around these boys forming these strong, ritualistic bonds. Whether the groups will ever work together is one thing, but the boys definitely highly regard their loyalty to each other.

    Chapter 13

Aww, tim. You know just what to tell a guy. I'm glad to see you're still reading. Hope the once a week thing isn't getting to be too much of a wait. The good news for me is that you're still enjoying it. Trust will be a big factor of the next few chapters. I'm excited to see what you think. Thanks for the review!

    Chapter 13

Should I tell you there's only ten more chapters to go? Which means there's only ten more weeks . . . yeah, it's a bit of a wait, I'm sorry. Can't release it any quicker. But I'm glad you're enjoying it, and I hope you'll stick around to see what happens next. We're quickly approaching several of my favorite points, and I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of them. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Chapter 13

Or will he help take the crime out of the criminals? There are many ways to go, still, and which path they'll choose remains a mystery. Viktor certainly has a conscience, but don't the others have glimmers of conscience as well? That part of the weave is just beginning to unfold. What will the big picture be when you see the rest of it? Only time will tell. I loved writing these boys. They're all cute together. Thanks for the review!

    Chapter 12

I think you'll like the next few chapters. Nobu, Dante, and Viktor are going to have some interesting conversations. There's a specific line of Dante's coming up which I absolutely adore, and laugh every time I reread it. It's definitely part of the culture to be as hard as Masahiro is on Nobuyuki, despite how much he cares for Nobu. Masahiro wants to see Nobuyuki succeed at all of his private endeavors, but he also needs to ensure his own position remains secure for Nobuyuki to inherit it one day. Even though he's having Nobuyuki beaten, he's also doing it for him in the long run. These are not my rationalizations, but they are Masahiro's. What Nobu did for Satoshi will have a longstanding effect. I can't wait for you to see how that plays out. Thank you for the review!
  13. That's a neat choice, too. I'm glad to see the thoughtful responses to this. (And thanks. ) I had a hard time answering this one, only because there were a number of people I'd choose, and choosing between them all was incredibly difficult. I decided on the current Dalai Lama. I've always considered him to be a man of deep wisdom, with an extremely progressive perspective on humanity as far as current world religion leaders are concerned. I think, regardless of how long we were stuck somewhere, it would be an enlightening experience, and my soul would come out better and stronger at the end of it. Same Q
  14. What an awesome choice! I would choose the aokigahara forest in Japan. It's already considered one of the most haunted places in the world, and I'd love to have the company. Same Q
  15. They're not, unfortunately. I just went and checked. If I lived near you, I'd sit you down and let you watch my copies, but that's not an option, here.
  16. I'm afraid I don't know if any of them are. But yes, that emotion as a priority thing was awesome. I also found it interesting how he makes his movies, the way he builds each scene individually and then connects them rather than plotting the whole thing out at once.
  17. You should. Some of the best storytelling out there. My personal favorites are Nausicaa, Howl's Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke.
  18. I consider Miyazaki one of the greatest storytellers of all time. This sixteen minute insight into how he thinks is golden. It may be from the perspective of an animator, but I can definitely see how it can be applied to writing in many ways.
  19. Dante stepped into the café with a spring in his step, glad to be doing something exciting after two days stuck inside. He’d been amped up ever since he’d rescued Viktor from the Horizons Hotel and Casino. Although it had been a trying moment in his life, it had been more excitement than he’d seen in a long time. He approached the counter and smiled at the young woman working there. She was short and blonde and had bright green eyes which sparkled in the afternoon sunlight, which filter
  20. I've seen the first two episodes. The Brazil one has some freaky stuff in it. I referenced the Japan episode on the forum for FTCOTW. It's interesting stuff.
  21. Aww . . . they protected a kid who is just as adorable as they are. I have my suspicions about Ray. Wonder if he's that typical homophobe who's hiding their own homosexuality? Maybe Ray and Timmy will end up together. I'm mostly skipping the erotic scenes. They're certainly well written, but I'm not that into erotic fiction most of the time. I prefer to focus on the character development and plot construction, which you've done quite well at in this story. Just wanted to let you know in case there was a quiz after.
  22. Oh no, the two adorable boys have been discovered. It's going to be interesting to see how they talk their way out of it, if they even have to.
  23. Still enjoying it. This was my favorite part: “Let me explain it this way,” he continued. “Whatever chances you have today, once you make your decisions as to whether you are going to act on those opportunities or not, then you’ll probably discover that similar opportunities may never present themselves to you again. In other words, what you decide today will affect all of your tomorrows, so I want you to think about this carefully. No matter what you decide to do about this now, it will most likely set the course for the rest of your life. Even inaction is a choice that can effect how the remainder of your life will go.” It's a lesson I've actually needed myself, of late, and I appreciate the opportunity to come across it. These boys are adorable, by the way.
  24. I finally got a chance to start. This is going to be a fun story for me. I haven't had the opportunity to read as much as I'd like in the last while, but I think this is a nice place for me to jump back in. It reminds me of the stories I first started reading online, back when I first discovered gay writing as a teenager. It has that whimsical innocence of youth to it, and I'm looking forward to a bit of nostalgia. Thanks for writing this, Bill.

    The Bearded Bromance

http://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/list/?filtertype_6=series&filtervalue_6=ab877cbf3b1b805d03a0453ad3ab594e It's book two of five here at GA, though there are several more at the link I sent you in the PM. I was actually never intending to write more than the first story, but people liked it enough and asked for a sequel. I rarely get requests like that, and so I felt obligated to honor it. Then I kept writing. I believe there are now eight stories at Dabeagle.com with these characters, though there will eventually be more. Kristin and Maggie were both under the impression that Seth and Logan were a couple, which is why they approached them in the first place, hoping they'd become their beards and serve a mutually beneficial arrangement. Thanks for reading, and for the review.
