You know my writing too well... Yes, I'll admit it now, as soon as I get some other stories out of my queue(Like my current one I'm working on and the sequel to The Navigator) I believe I'm going to start a mini-series of shorter works which follow Arawn and Sam. Thank you for the review.

I experienced some of that same feeling while writing this. I knew a base history of Samhain and how Halloween had come about, but this really gave me the excuse to dig deeper, and now I'm an absolute fan of the original holiday. Thank you for the review.

Thank you for the fabTABulous review. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, it's definitely one of my favorites, too.

'I love you' would fit. The first word has one letter, the second word has four letters, and the third word has three letters. I'd say that's a pretty good bet, Victor.

A very merry existence day to you.

CSR Book Club C S R Discussion Day: Halloween Short Stories
Cynus commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I just want to tell everyone who is interested that there is a Halloween collection which was released at dabeagle.net today, and it's filled with both some old classics and some new stories. I would have added a link to it in my own interview had they been live before today, but check them out for some more spooky tales. -
The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the city as Samuel Cleese glanced out the window. Within the hour night would be upon them, the perfect setting for a night full of mischief and fun. It was Halloween, and Sam had always loved the holiday, even if he were now too old for the activities he had enjoyed as a kid. He had turned twenty one only two weeks before, and though he envied the trick-or-treaters to some nostalgic degree, he was glad the awkwardness of his youth was beginni

Sam Cleese hopes to finally find a boyfriend at the Halloween dance, but things don't go as planned, and before he knows what's happening he's drawn into the most magical night he's ever experienced.

You build scenes beautifully. I was instantly transported to the everywhere you took me, and it wasn't hard to picture any of it in my mind. I'm excited to see where this story goes from here. Can't help but wonder what Charles and Sam are like in their daily lives, and what Casey's plan is now.

Paul! I've missed you. Glad to see you here. This was written sometime back in June, I think, I just forgot to post it here. It was written for a contest at Castleroland.net, and I believe I took third if memory serves. It was fun, and that's what was most important. If you like futurist fiction, I think you're going to love my next novel. I'm only three chapters in, but it's already what I consider to be my greatest work yet. Look for it no later than the turn of the year. Thank you for the review.

You're so sweet. I don't know if I'll ever be free of doubt, though. I've had some duds in the past, too. Maybe I'll post one of those later today? I haven't been particularly inspired to write historical fiction in the past, but if the challenges keep coming I'll keep writing for it. Thank you for the review.

Dammit! I don't know how I missed responding to this, Drew! I'm sorry. Oh, I was so happy with that scene in the hallway between Logan, Maggie, and Seth. I brought back some experiences from my high school days which were similar, and it definitely made my day. Oh, the sexual tension between these two "straight" boys is fantastic. I loved writing it. Thank you for the review, spawnling.

Episode 4 - The Doppelganger
Cynus commented on Cynus's story chapter in Episode 4 - The Doppelganger
I try to keep everything twisting if I can. It's the kind of story I enjoy, and so when I write I try to match it. Trust is a recurring theme in this story. Perhaps that's the symbolism of Micah as a character? He, as a shapeshifter, is the hardest one for others to trust, and yet HE is the one who is the least trusting of all of them... I hadn't thought of it that way before. Thank you for your review. -
Oh, Jacob's not so difficult for me to write, actually. He's sort of my inner child in a lot of ways, and I find any section where i use him to flow particularly easily. If you come across a chapter where Jacob is central, expect it to be one of my favorites, because he wants to be on the page. Thank you for the review, and I'm glad you're still reading.

Episode 2 - The Icarus Confederacy
Cynus commented on Cynus's story chapter in Episode 2 - The Icarus Confederacy
Oh yes, Tristan is definitely blindly moving forward, going with the ones who appear to be helping him, even though he is so shocked about what's going on he can't be certain which direction is teh right one. I'm glad you enjoyed the second chapter, and thank you for the review. -
MGK! Welcome to the story, and thank you for the review. One of Kurt Vonnegut's 8 rules of writing is to be sadistic to your characters. You have to make horrible things happen to them so they can prove what they're made of as they fight their way through tragedy. Sometimes that tragedy is physical, sometimes emotional, but you must create conflict somehow, or you don't have a story. I held that idea in my mind as I approached this story, and Tristan bore the brunt of it. One of the meanings behind the title and the symbolism of the phoenix is that Tristan is to rise from the ashes of the fate he's suffered and become a new man because of it. Stronger, and ready to take on his enemies.

Nevala is one of the characters I wrote to be tragic. He's almost like a reformed criminal, which means I know people will have a hard time forgiving him for what he's done, but he really is a good guy, now. They certainly are in a tricky situation though, aren't they? Thank you for the review.
-
Without Nevala they would have been forced to rely on Kurt's knowledge of ghosts to find a way to return Jacob to his previous incarnation, which would have taken extensive research. Kurt, of course, would have taken it upon himself to make it happen, but it would have taken a long time. Nevala, being trained as a shaman, already had the skill set. Hayden can be volatile at times, especially when it has to do with something happening to Luke. But, he's also a good guy, and when he learns he's wrong about something he definitely feels bad about it. As for Nevala and Ethan... Thanks for the review.

Kurt and Jacob truly are one of the perfect couples in the story. They're the oldest characters, originating from my story "Oak Shadows", and I loved turning them into the veterans. But all those years of working together certainly makes it difficult to imagine how one would survive without the other. Thank you for the review.

Oh, there's plenty more where that came from, I assure you. The good thing about this story is that it's complete, so you'll only have to wait a few days for the next installment. Lots of information coming at you in the near future. I'm glad you like the action and the torsion. I certainly try to make it enjoyable. I just wish it happened more often than it didn't. Oh, and my Halloween story which will release late tonight or sometime tomorrow appreciates the Celtic reference. Thank you for the review.

Intrigue is certainly what I strive for. I like to think it's where I excel as a writer, since I don't have the confidence to say I excel at anything else in the craft. Expect more questions before you get many answers, and expect the answers to continue to lead to questions. I want to keep you curious, and hopefully that will happen here. I look forward to your return, tim. Thank you for the review.

Edward was limping, and his right eye was killing him, but he shuffled his way back to the country home a short way out of Biloxi. Even though the last person he wanted to face was Auntie Anne, there was also nowhere else to go if he wanted help with his injuries. She would take care of him, and then she would give him an earful, and he had to hope that would be the end of it. Before he even made it to the front porch he could hear her. Edward's cousin Charles had likely already returned wi

In 1720, Jack Rackham, also known as Calico Jack, was hanged for piracy. He left behind a son in Cuba, and a pregnant wife, Anne Bonny. The exact fate of Jack's son and wife remains unknown. The 1700's was a chaotic time for the Caribbean, but sometime in the middle of the century the Legend of Calico Jack resurfaced again.

I've been asked to scout for two of the sites I post at, so I would appreciate the PM, sure.

I suppose being the "sex-willing asexual" that I am, my particular situation affects me less than it would others, so maybe I can't relate here. What I will say is that sex is definitely not the only thing in life, and there is a lot of fulfillment to be found elsewhere. There's no need to let lack of sex run one's life.
