I think that all I really have left to say is that these characters are definitely different people from anyone I've ever written before. Their actions will be their own, and I think that if you give them a chance they won't disappoint you. The choice, of course, is up to you. It's definitely a different plot from The Navigator, so I don't think you'll have any worry of having the same experience with it as you did with the other story.

It certainly does make sense. This story is less about belief in the church and more about the acceptance of one's self. As of right now, I can't say for certain what epiphanies the boys will reach, but I do know that the driving point in the plot isn't about their struggle with belief in the church. All four of the main characters may very well remain members of the church at the end. That vote likely won't be cast until much later in the story. The characters drive this story, and they haven't taken me to the end yet. I do not think that the characters will go the route of Silas or Ian, or certainly not all four of them will. It's possible that one of them (And I know which one) will, but the conclusions they draw will be different from Silas/Ian, because they are definitely different people. I feel like I'm rambling now. Am I rambling?

I will say that the only connection I intentionally made between this story and The Navigator is that the characters grew up in a Mormon household, but whereas The Navigator is based around characters that left the church some time ago after having had a negative experience with it, this story centers around characters that are in the thick of Mormon culture and dealing with issues such as sexual identity. I admit to a slight agenda toward the church in The Navigator, specifically toward those families who believe that the culture calls upon them to abandon their children, but I actually have significantly less of one in this story. I was hoping to bring some humanity back to these kids. I learned a lot in the process of writing this story, and so I believe the later half is likely more mature than the first.

A lot of these questions were answered later, though I will say that Marc only recently developed feelings for Damien. Damien had to begin to come into his own for Marc to start seeing him as someone to be attracted to.

I've considered expanding this thought process several times, and I think it may be my next major project, once I've completely finished my current one. Gods as aliens is one of my favorite things to explore. I really don't know how I missed responding to this review, but at least I have some cool things to update since then. I've written a number of more spiritual texts since this one, such as my piece titled "The Power of Truth". I recommend looking into it if you haven't already.

He was the one meant to save the rest of them from the beginning, just as Damien was meant to save the world.

Keith was my chosen martyr from the beginning. He was the one who had to die so that Damien could find the courage he needed to persevere to the end.

I hope it was eventually worth the wait.

Wow, I must not have known how the GA review system worked back in March, because I apparently missed responding to a lot of reviews. Although I'm unsure as to whether or not I addressed your question in this review at some later point, I will address it here. There are certainly more members on the team, but the ones mentioned here are those that were known for being Logan's good friends. They all grew up together and shared many experiences together. Drew approached Gary with his knowledge of Logan's supposed infidelity, and then involved the other four kids. So, although it's not the whole team, they are the ones that directly impact Logan's life all the time.
