I really appreciate your perceptive comments and review. Andy hasn't had a lot of practice with communicating beyond shrugs and monosyllables. Given his discomfort and tension, I agree that his exam at the doctor's office went reasonably well. Kaz and Terry clearly knew about Zander. He probably swore them to utter secrecy, being himself unsure of what to do next. If I ever get time enough to update the text, I'll want to think again about your remarks. As for Andy at this moment, the best prescription would be a big dose of Zander.

You are most kind. Thank you for reading Andy's story. I hope it continues to hold your interest.

Oh, you picked up on that one . I almost edited it out as being too obvious, so I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for reading, and for your review.

Sometimes the best way to tell your friends something is to show them. I love your comment about Andy having 'arrived' because he appears to be unpacking some of his emotional baggage. Zander seemed to help by letting Andy let some of it go.

Thanks for your remarks; I really appreciate those who take the time to respond to Andy's story. Andy made it through the physical, just. He knew about the scars on his back; but now he's becoming aware of other, deeper scars.

I am humbled by your kind comments. Considering the emotions the exam triggered, Andy survived as well as he could. That Zander was a rock for him to hang onto afterwards was also very important. I really appreciate your many comments and for including Andy's story in your reading.

As Andy said himself, these days are emotional whirls and full of activity and stress. He trusts Zander, and Zander his proving to be worthy of that by being a rock for Andy to hold onto. Kaz and Terry are happy for their friends, but probably don't have a full picture of Andy's life. I really appreciate your perceptive reviews and comments on the story thread. Many thanks for reading Andy's story.

Glad you liked this one. And no, this can't be all there is to it... Thanks for sticking with Andy's story, Tim.

So he chose to stay. How to go on meant going on a kind of autopilot, I think. Maybe it just seemed safer. Thanks for your review!

Andy has tons of stuff still to carry, and it will take time to unpack it all. That he survived his exam with the doc is good, that Zander unhesitatingly stepped up to hold him after was more important. No second thoughts for him.

Andy has so much to carry. He's begun to unload his burden, which is good, but there is still a heavy load in his emotional backpack. Thank you for your review and for reading...and for uFor patience!

Andy has certainly has some letdown stress - the kind of stress you get when you realize you can let go a little. Zander and his parents will have to be very understanding and patient as Andy joins their family. Certainly Zander will be as loving as he knows how to be. Thanks for your reading and patience.

The past for Andy is still there, like the clouds that have always loomed on his horizon. However, maybe he has smoke shelter now from the storm that always seems to want to break over his head. His physical is something so hard because he's never had anyone know him, see him, examine him so closely, and it sure made him very uncomfortable. Getting on with a new life may be a challenge. Thanks for your patience and for your reading of Andy's story,

As a dad, as a lover of your poetry, as a teacher, I have to say these two poems resonated deeply for me. I remember the emotions and the weariness of a long day with energetic kids. I remember being a kid myself, and I empathize with the day-is-hardly-over sentiment. I want to dance with the child, and sleep with the parent. How wonderful. Thanks to you I can feel both.

This was another tough bit of text to write. The interaction between the judge and Mr.S flowed well at first, but I found it hard to make it plausible. I hope you felt you could believe it. It's a new beginning, but Andy's must still lug about a fair bit of his past with him. So many issues remain unresolved. More to come...thanks so much for reading Andy's story and for your great reviews.

There is some hope in the world for Andy. Now if he can sustain that....thanks for seeing Andy through his many trials and into a better spot. At least for now.

    Splash

This is a first for Eric - we actually get to see him at play. It ended far too soon, though.

My parents did the same for me...but the image I keep with me most is my grandmother reading to me and my cousin on the front porch of her house every summer. She would have loved Harry Potter, I suppose. For Eric, this was a chance to lose himself in something good, if on,y for an hour or so. The librarians must have been delighted to watch it.

    Wrong Help

What is the saying? If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail? I think that's it. And certainly, that's Ozzie's character all over in this case. Eric/Stefan needs help, but not what Ozzie wants to offer. Thanks for sticking with the story!

Thank you for this comment. This is the part of Andy's story that I tried not to rush, but inevitably, I felt I failed at that. What he has going for him is Zander's love, and the support of Monica and Garrett. But being normal? He doesn't eve know what that is, yet. Thank you for reading and for your reviews, which mean a very great deal to me,

The truth had to be told. It had to be said out loud. Monica's "sweet Jesus" and Zander's connecting Andy to the thing he thought was fiction drove my thinking. I meditated a very long time on this chapter. And you are right, this is a new beginning for Andy, and for the Stevenson family, too, I think. Many thanks for your review and for reading Andy's story.

You made me laugh at that one, Tim. "F'kg finally," was a perfect response, and economically poetic. Yes. finally, Zander and AndY admit to what they both knew. For once, it's very good. Thanks for reading and for your review, which I thoroughly enjoyed,

Oh, you said it so very well. Thank you for being patient as I try to catch up on reviews and posts.

I am so sorry I missed replying to your review. Yes, it was difficult to write this, but I suspect many readers found it tough reading, too. Thank you for reading Stefan's story and for responding to it.

It was as hard to write as it was to read. And yet, this kind of thing happens to kids every day. If this makes you want to stand up for just one of them, it was worth the pain to read it. Thank you for reading and reviewing.
