    I am glad you thought the ending was sweet; hopefully not too saccharine. This marks a big turn in Andy's life. Healing takes time, but he's stripped bare the scars of his life, and now they can start to fade. Thanks for reading this chapter and for your kind review.

    For Andy, Dr. O'Shea seemed relentless. But maybe it was just unravelling so many threads all at once that it needed to happen. The 'date' was such fun to write, it came off my fingers without any apparent effort on my part. Zander has been so good to Andy; he must be channeling his need for Andy into kindness. He appears to be listening to Andy with more than his ears. Thank you for continuing to read this story and for your insights. I really appreciate them.

    Monica just a big fat reality check overnight. Her little boy Zander isn't so innocent. It's one thing to know about your son's sexuality as an intellectual matter, quite another to find him in bed wrapped around another boy, no matter how chaste it looks. And given all the mystery and unanswered questions about Andy, I'll bet she didn't sleep at all well - enough to make any of us cranky. Zander put two and two together swiftly.     Zander must be listening to Andy with more than his ears. Andy finally admitting out loud what happened - what has been haunting him - exposed his deepest wound, but now it can heal better, maybe. And Andy really is loveable, isn't he?     How is this possible that I am first? Ginny is right. If Twoey really feels for David, don't kiss Erik. Snort of laughter over mark hitting on David. The kid has to learn, I guess, that some things just can't be hurried. His brother is the one to watch out for. Then there is the geometric bond diagram. Is David channeling Chemistry class? Looked very strong to the math/physics teacher. Wait till David needs to build a bridge. This was a nice chapter with lots of sunny moments and vivid snapshots of David's life. Puzzling about the Aunt Sarah call, but expect that will mean something later. Can't wait for David to be with Twoey at home again. More sooner, please?

    March 3 A letter from the school came to the Stevenson’s house yesterday, addressed to the ‘Parent or Guardian of Andrew Stevenson.’ Monica made a big deal of getting it, like it was some big milestone in my childhood. I felt really apprehensive. Letters home from the school were never a good thing in Carlsberg. They almost always pissed Dad off. This time, the news wasn’t good at all, either. The letter notified us that for the next ten days starting Monday, my gym class will be in the pool

    Thank you. The images and senses drove what I came out on the paper (really. paper!). The body remembers a lot for us; reminds us of what we felt, touched, yearned for. And the metre is fun - yes it's counting, and my fingers are getting calloused from ticking off syllables. Thanks for the challenge and your encouragement.

    Math is a language, too. What a pity do many of who teach math refuse to teach language first and foremost. Plus, it's just fun to play.

    Warmth and comfort, arms so gentle wrapped around my torso; scent familiar, transcendental, fills my spirit; more so Fanning memory's glowing embers, flick'ring dim lit rapture. And the body still remembers all consuming capture.

    I love each of these in their turn; Sadness completely describes how I feel some days; Life reminds me of how blind I am; and California - I read it and hear your laugh, and feel inexpressibly sad at the price you paid. Thank you.

    You have certainly found plenty of places in the text where Andy tells us how much he does NOT want to think about Uncle Ray. Clearly he's a big factor in his running from Carlsberg in the first place. Andy's hope is in the patience and love the Stevensons are showing to him. If he can heal even a little that would be a big step forward.

    Look out David! Sounds like he's going to wind up being another layer in a new sandwich, to me. With Mike coming to visit, Twoey will perhaps cool his ardor for David, too, which will leave him vulnerable to Matty, his brother, and all his friends. Unless, of course, the evil mother character chooses to act, somehow. Interesting to see David's relationship with Biggy evolve, and thank you for seeing David interact with Tommy - both things I have missed, and wanted to see more of. Thanks for this chapter! More soon, right?

    Lovely poems, both, Drew. I am no poet or historian, but I love the images these evoke. I am especially drawn to the second of these two, as I encounter winter spiders in my home constantly.
