The Barley and Sow was busy but mellow. We found a place to sit. On the large projection TV, the Jays were playing the Yankees. Don had ordered fish and chips times three and a beer for himself. Max and I sipped iced tea. I’d have loved a beer, but I was driving, so it was best not to take the chance.
Max hadn’t stopped smiling. “This is like a real pub!”
“That’s because it is a real pub.” Donny grinned at the boy. “I’m so glad you like fish and chips; I’ve had a craving for a few days
Thursday is a day to choose
What to leave behind
Who to lose
Behind me is a flood of words
Now dried up and Flown;
one by one, like so many birds
And meaningless each
And every one
For what do they teach?
Who really cares?
Oh, you’ll clamber and say oh, I do
But you,
Don’t.
i guess that time has come ... let the book be closed.

a poem for...
Wednesday morning and
you're on my mind
you fill a space
i never realized was missing
you
but i know i never want you
to leave
and though we are apart
you always fill that place
that has been an empty
hole
in my heart.
have a good day all.
