Thank you LadyDe. He ended up with a family that is many times better than his biological family. So far, Aiden hasn't shown any real interest in becoming the next Alpha beyond his determination that Michael wouldn't be filling that post.

Ready and willing even when he thinks he's got no chance. He has the attitude of, 'if I'm going down I'm going with a fight and taking one of you with me.' Fortunately self defense isn't a problem.

Thank you Centex for this and all the other chapters. There are several options for dealing with Michael. Exile is one, execution at the hand of his father, allowing Aiden to kill him in a challenge. Hopefully the one I end up using will please all the readers.

Without Aiden, whatever is taking shape within Ethan would have forever been locked away.

Ethan does have a kind nature, but his time living on the streets has given him the hard edge to survive where kindness doesn't work.

Michael actually is a strong wolf in his own right, but doesn't have the sound moral compass to help guild him.

The Tucker family were very happy to step up and take Ethan in and would have done so even without the Alpha requesting it. They have a lot of love within the family and a lot to share with a stray that's trying to find his place.

I sometimes write in little jokes for myself that I take out during editing, things that I don't think would ever actually work, but make the writing process a little more fun. When I edited and got to that part it just seemed to work well so I kept it. Thank you for the compliment.

CG, you are very welcome and I'm happy you enjoyed this chapter. Ethan may not realize what he's doing, but for a street hardened guy, he's not willing to put up with bullying from someone like Michael. I really want to thank you for catching the name mistake, which I fixed as soon as I saw this. I thought about joking with everyone following ch 12 and saying since everyone focused on just Ethan's eyes instead of all the various myths being combined I'd hold out for a few days on a new chapter but I couldn't do that to you all since without all of you this story would still just be taking up space on my hard drive instead of taking on the life I hoped it would.

Thank you Irish for the wonderful compliment. Ethan being taken into a family was an important aspect of the story and something I decided early on was required. I will neither confirm or deny at this point your guess about Ethan, but... it will be officially settled within the next couple chapters. Michael see's the power without the moral balance.

Life took on a sense of normalcy Ethan was unaccustomed to. Between work, Aiden, and living with the Tucker family, he felt like he had a purpose in life for the first time. Aiden's friends share his sense of duty. In the brief time they've had to get to know Ethan, they see the type of person he is and want to help. Him being the mate to their friend is a factor, but giving a hand to someone that would never ask is a bigger factor. The attraction for both is instant.

It's a world that Ethan used through reading and imagination to escape some of the hardships he's had to endure. His taking things so well is probably a combination of shock, fascination, and relieve that he is no longer alone in the world. Aiden always considered himself "mostly" straight so never gave any thought to finding his mate to be a male.

Both are things that Ethan is unaware of. My thoughts are that him meeting Aiden as brought about a natural change in Ethan that otherwise might not have occurred. It's a good question of how it will affect Aiden. More to come soon.

All I can say to this is Thank You, Onim. I never expected the response I've gotten, though I admit I'm my own worst critic. To me, Ethan needs the love of a family if he is to have any future with Aiden.

Jim, Thank you for this. I'm kind of same way on reviews, where I know what I want to express but not exactly how. I always wanted it to be a slow build with each new chapter and giving the characters time to grow, especially Ethan.

It's a good question and one I never considered or thought to ask myself. As it began to take form in my mine it felt like the most natural character to be the aggressor.
