I kind of picture Helen as a rough, no nonsense retired judge that has seen enough to know when to be diplomatic but would shove her claws through someone's chest and rip out their heart of they pissed her off. The sex scene was actually more fun to write than I expected. Both trying to give as much as the other and either taking on a specific role. Ethan definitely needs to come to terms with other recent events before taking on more changes.

Very true, but it could make things more interesting. Or at least I hope it does.

Thanks CG, I was curious what your thoughts were going to be on this. When I first went to write the chapter I had intended to make it where Ethan allows himself to be bit by Aiden. From his own words in the chapter we know it's going to happen so I don't mind saying it here that it is coming. As they both realize, he's not ready for another change even if he wants the change to happen. Now, for the other questions, I can't say too much just yet. Think of this potentially bad decision as when you're watching a movie and think, why didn't they just do that now, simple answer, it would screw up the plot

Ethan had considerable difficulty trying to come to terms with the fact he might be what the alpha called ‘an Elemental’. He did not fully comprehend what that meant, but he knew if it was true there was nothing he could do about it. It did not mean trying to accept what he was told was any easier. Still, he had never had reason to question his humanity before. Now it appeared he was not entirely human. He tried to reason that if and when he let Aiden bite him, he would not be fully human anyway

Thanks Cannd. When the pack elders gave Ethan the history of Lycans they did talk about the lunis. Basically they are like a white tiger cub born from orange parents. It's an anomaly within the wolf population where you might occasionally have one born from parents that are lupus wolves. If two lunis breed, it will most likely be a lunis, though can sometimes be a lupus. As far as the team that bagged the dead lunis, they might think something was used to kill it that's in the truck. Most anything would have been possible, but the Alpha and Sheriff would have gone wolf to fight it. Ethan was upset at killing something that was a wolf. The thought that he protected his mate and Casey's life doesn't factor in yet, just the death of a wolf by him as well as the revelation that he's not entirely human. I don't think the lunis wanted to cuddle , but did it want to get to Ethan for some reason and attack because it was being blocked or was it attacking just because it was feral? That is a question that only time will tell.

Thanks rbenn. I wouldn't be surprised if the Alpha didn't talk to James about it, as James was one of the Alpha's teachers growing up which is how James knew of the legends in the first place. Who better to help the Alpha research.

I kind of feel a cross between the two best describes him. He shares abilities with both and will learn to combine them. It will give another level of protection and he'll be able to run with his mate

Thank you Centex Aiden from his mating instincts will always try to protect Ethan and for Casey it's a sense of duty. It wouldn't matter with knowing Ethan can protect them all, they would still try. Aiden is the strongest and largest wolf of his generation and a very formidable wolf. He could probably have taken the lunis wolf on his own without trouble, especially to protect his mate and with the help of Casey would improve the odds. A lunis and lupus wolf are pretty evenly matched, even if the lunis is in its larger lunar form. The catch is with it being feral. That adds a level of unpredictability of a wild animal that makes it exceptionally dangerous. The Alpha's thoughts on Ethan are based on myths and legends he's read. It'd doubtful they could find anyone to actually train Ethan, though you never know. The druidic abilities would give him a mastery of nature, the way the horse reacted to him for example, Elemental abilites (or shaman) would give him control of things like freezing water to use it as a weapon but either name seems to overlap (I kind of base the two or three entities on some of the forums from WoW but it's up to the interpretation of the reader) Ethan is dependent on Aiden, but only from the standpoint of he's rebuilding a life and a lot of the simple things we take for granted have not been part of his life. He's relearning how to be around people and he does like being cuddled and held by his mate. As always, I love seeing your comments and thank you so much for this.

Beautifully said! Both the poem and the commentary. Would be nice to see everyone at home have a warm meal and a place to sleep before handing out billions all over the world, but the ones in charge have never had to scrounge through a dumpster hoping to find their next meal.

The knowledge Michael and the others would remain locked up provided Ethan with a sense of relief. He was happy his primary attacker was not going to be on the streets looking for him again, at least not for a while. Buffy, I can't say thank you enough for your wonderful compliment. I never thought this would be as popular as it is and I'm very thankful for all the people that are reading this. It encourages me to finish this project and to try and do so to the best of my abilities. I almost feel sorry for Michael, Chris and Robert as well. I'll leave it at that for now as far as they go.

I'm behind in my reading as well. I didn't want to write the usual shifter story and it makes me feel good that the people reading this, like you, feel I haven't. I'm a little nervous the closer I get to chapter 24 as that's the last chapter I currently have completed. With luck my current bout of writers block will pass and I'll be back on track to finish the story without any interruption.
