Any jokes or attitude Trevor showed towards the alphas was with the focus of saving Thad's life while insuring Wade didn't need to worry about the pack. Besides, he knew Brandon is a full alpha without a pack, so why not ask when your friend is helping you safe a life. If the leadership hadn't recognized Trevor as the likely next person in the line of succession, due to him being Aiden's beta in PA, Trevor would have become an advisor to the enforcer during the crisis instead of acting alpha. It's not that Aiden and Ethan thought two betas were needed, but the men they wanted came as a pair. In all likelihood, Dorian picked Thad and Wade before everything went down and asked A&E to bring them back as betas. The men were well respected during their time as enforcers. That process is more or less planned for some future date as T&W are expected to become the alphas when the pack is strong enough not to need the protection of the Elementals. Trevor could become the alpha if E&A turned it over to him, but he'd still have to step on people he cares about to do it. Trevor calling Aiden out while they talked is one best friend telling the other he isn't giving his all when he took a position of importance and leadership. He wouldn't be a good beta if he didn't do that. It was done in private so not to undermine the alpha. Will Trevor eventually become the alpha of Pit River or any other pack? Who knows. Will me go through the change and become a physical alpha? That's also an unknown. Have I mentioned this week how much I like my readers?

For Trevor to become alpha, he'd have to push the two men, the people he just called family, out of the way. Thad and Wade are acting alphas the majority of the time, and they do a good job, plus have the respect of the pack. Would Trevor do that to people he cares about?

However targeting money that had been stolen likely brought about the attacks on the betas. Now they're definitely out for blood again. I liked Trevor not easing into it, just dropping it like a grenade in Aiden's lap. Casey being the horndog he is, no way he'd miss a comment on the size of the two men.

Trevor's speech matches his emotions at the moment. While the outward projection is controlled as he still handles what needs taking care of, some thoughts are all over the spectrum. As Aiden's best friend, he literally is questioning the commitment of the alphas to lead the pack. Aiden's ties are to the Parker Valley Pack where he's still an alpha-designate. It's the pack he dreams of becoming alpha of in time. Trevor's pushing Aiden to do more than delegate at Pit River. While they're able to run the pack remotely, Trevor feels Aiden and Ethan should be more involved. The position of alpha has to be earned, and while the two were accepted by the pack, the beta pair is doing the majority of the work to be deserving of the title. Trevor's kind of telling his friend, do the job or stand aside. I agree with your comment about Randy. He would have a larger family and be able to go anywhere Skyler could.

Though locking them in a smallish prison cell at attaching them to a milking machine might be fore fun. When I can shock readers like you, I know I've done my job. There's no telling so far what damage if any has been done to Randy's friendships because of the Trevor/Cassidy blowup. Only time will tell.

Another great chapter. I kept hoping Pam would get her act together, but you wrote her well just as she is. CJ well in holding back as long as he did.
