Thank you as always, Centex. Trevor passed the test he was given and knows, at least the basics of what he's doing. It will definitely be a learning experience for him. Wade and Thad do outrank him, in that they are the betas of the pack. Trevor is Aiden's personal beta, but not on any pack level. He's quite capable, but still young, like his alphas, and has much to learn. Glenn started as an unnamed driver. I couldn't imagine Trevor riding in the SUV for an hour plus without talking to him, so their conversation evolved. I intended to use him throughout the book, but sadly this is his one and only appearance.

Trevor's got a group of experts to learn from. Maybe he can teach them something as well. I kept seeing those signs when I was in that area for the Dixie fire in summer of 2021 (year after this takes place) and figured it could be fun to throw in a couple lines about it.

Thank you, Miked. He knows the players involved and sees a pack still in trouble as it recovers from the loss of it's alpha. Trevor has a chance to put what he's learned in school to use for the first time, and help people in the process.

With the friends Trevor has, and how happy they all appear, after what he thought what an amicable breakup turning into something more, it makes sense he'd at least joke that switching sides might be better.

That's the physical response I hoped for with that vid-call. It wasn't going to be in this book, but my husband asked if it could be. Trevor does know his friend well.

I think I learned more how to effectively and not over use cliffhangers by reading your books. In RWTP, they were accidents that just happened. By The Alpha, I knew how to use it as a tool.

At least in the first five chapters I've only deployed two cliffhangers. I enjoy when they work, more so since I know the story is complete and my readers won't have to wait longer than a week. I agree with you that if it's in every chapter, it would be excessive.

Brandon's home pack tries to encourage him, but knows he isn't comfortable in his fur. You're right though, getting thrown in with a rowdy bunch of strangers can be what a person needs.

Thank you so much, Astone. I've said it many times already, if Covid hadn't hit, Dorian would have actually died in this story. From the moment I started writing, that was his fate. Still, I'm happier with this ending than the original.

Dorian knew he was dead either way. Levi had sent out a message before attacking. There might have been some satisfaction from killing his "friend" before his own assassination would likely take place outside the office, but would it have served any purpose?

It was weird writing a book where I was locked into where I had to take the character, but it was fun as hell doing it.
