Holidays are in the mind, really. I like to get these stories posted in time for the actual day, but they can be read at any time of the year. It sort of makes me wonder what a Charlie Boone story that did not revolve around a holiday might be like! Hmm!

Thanks, CG. That's an interesting question about the Map Book. My feeling is that only those elves proficient with time will be able to make the journey, as it requires both teleporting to a place AND to a different time line. But with Max and Keerby around (not to mention Nicholaas)...! Yep. Kiernan will return.

Max has a brother? Your memory for the events and characters of this series is phenomenal. I am going to have to re-read the entire series at some point and create a database of characters and events. We've reached a point where it's getting to be too much to remember! Max has some catching up to do, yes. I have a feeling he will!

Thank you, as always. Nicholaas is probably older than Pyewacket, and so can get away with speaking to him that way! Oh, I guess if everyone wants to get together some time, Max can just rent the Coliseum in ancient Rome and whisk everyone back there! ⚡

That's a shame, and it has happened to too many. A lot of old films and TV have been lost to budgetary considerations, not to mention stupidity, carelessness, inattention, or simple disinterest. We can never get that stuff back. So it does suggest that we really pay attention to what is left, and try to conserve as much as we can.

They had slept for four hours, and were still tired. Most of the stars of the screen I knew as a kid are gone now. Every generation faces the loss of its icons and heroes. I guess it's a part of growing up, and growing older. Fortunately, just about every movie ever made is available today, and since we mostly knew our heroes from the screen, anyway, it's not that hard to spend time with them again. So while they may be gone, the characters they left behind are still with is. It's the same with books, and every medium that allows a story to be told. The storytellers eventually go away, but the stories remain, as well as their power to entertain us!

I think their machines our as modern as ours, but that their visual design favors a different period in thinking. Some of those old trucks were actually pretty fierce looking! Just the thing to please the roving eye of a vampire or werewolf!

Actually, I was wondering if anyone would catch that. I lifted that from a funny 70's movie called The Hot Rock. 🤪 Most of the Charlie Boone stories have these little Easter eggs, but but very few people ever call me on them!
