  1. Geron Kees

    Chapter 7

Horace has long needed a special project of his own in keeping with his talents with fifth-order beings. He will rise to the need, I'm sure. Amy is so supportive of him, and she needs a special focus of her own where she thrives. I just haven't decided on that yet. Browbeat has a great volume of experience and knowledge packed into his mind. In the no-time of the lower level, he could have been cruising around for a small eternity, picking up things along the way. He has certainly been a help to the gang. That he loves being with them and sharing their purpose and adventures counts for a LOT.

    Chapter 7

Browbeat has a unique take on what he is learning as 'the human experience'. He has adopted Charlie and the others fiercely. But his own outlook on things will always be there. And sometime they seem clearer to him than his adopted viewpoint.

    Chapter 7

You'd think. The complexity of a truly advanced society has got to be overwhelming in some respects. Look at where our own society is today. It's a ZOO!

    Chapter 6

Now you see why it's so hard for me not to keep stepping on my own feet here!

    Chapter 6

Even if offered the chance to move on, would Elias take it? He seems content to be part of Earth for now. Even with his mobility restored, he might want to hang around.

    Chapter 6

Exactly. 'Being there' counts for a lot.

    Chapter 6

The general mind touch without contact needed seemed a logical advance in their talents. Charlie's ability to touch with Rick was more a special element of the situation in that other story than a new talent. But it did carry over for when they were using skwish together. I don't recall every one of these details with Robin. My index needs updating!

    Chapter 6

If it weren't for cable reruns, I wouldn't know who Rocky and Bullwinkle are, either! Watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat!

    Chapter 6

I wanted something a little ethereal to go with the nature of these gas beings held together by electromagnetic fields. The name just popped into my head. But we all know how the past has an effect us on stuff like this. I don't recall those cereals, but that doesn't mean a thing!

    Chapter 6

Thanks. Browbeat shares Rick's liking of old movies. He picks up phrases he likes from everything he watches.

    Chapter 6

Nice people are everywhere, and there are probably more out there than mean ones. Looking at our own kind, that seems doubtful at times, but that's because the decent majority is too often silent.

    Chapter 6

Maybe. The Loturi would not take kindly to being lied to, I would guess. And such a BIG lie, too. But they will inevitably learn there is no huge Carpathian empire lurking beyond their own, and have to wonder and make their own guesses as to what really happened. But I don't see Charlie and the others being unable to see the Loturi they have met up to now again, and do it amicably. Friendships, when grown, have a way of overlooking some doubtful elements that led to that friendship in the first place. When people become close, it tends to stick.

    Chapter 6

Since they are composed largely of gases, I'd tend to agree.

    Chapter 6

Um...oops. I'll have to go back and look at that.

    Chapter 5

I do appreciate greatly anyone so interested in what I write that they read the tales more than once and consider series like this one as a whole. I created this series, and it is all I can do sometimes to remember the details. Paul has gone a long way to keep me on track.

    Chapter 5

And that simple statement makes me happy. I write these for fun, and hope others will read them the same way. You cannot ask for more than that as a writer.

    Chapter 5

I have no question in mind that you will think of more later!

    Chapter 5

I was wondering if anyone would remember old Ming at all. When I was a kid, I shared in my dad's sci-fi book and video collection. It stuck pretty hard!

    Chapter 5

    Good comments demand decent responses!

    Chapter 5

Charlie can change his appearance on his own. The others need a little help.

    Chapter 5

I have to agree with you. Never lose the past, because it's what your present is built upon.

    Chapter 5

Look how many words we absorb daily into English from other languages. Words fascinate me. Naming something new with a term that somehow seems appropriate is especially fun for me. Sometimes I give it some thought, but other times a word just jumps out at me. And, some of the names I use are borrowed, sort of Easter eggs from other science fiction tales that I hope someone will recognize (but seldom do). The name of Elias' race, for example, the Ardvoon, comes from an old episode of Star Trek, where Spock has the urge to reproduce and seems to kill Kirk in the fight. The long lance weapons they used, with the wicked scimitar tips, were called 'Ardvoon.'

I certainly want to give more. But only the future will tell.

    Chapter 5

We have a lot of these critters where I live. I have found them to be curious and likeable, as long as you don't make them generally welcome. We don't, and there is fortunately enough going on in the big woods to keep them from visiting too much with us. Our squirrels don't seem to care for them, but not being furry myself, I don't know exactly why.

    Chapter 5

It helps greatly that there are so many worlds out there longing to be built!
