No, I wasn't thinking of that. My mom has payed piano for 70 years. I got interested in it when I was young, and she taught me to play. We used to play a lot together, which really is a great way to learn. My mom likes Elton John and Billy Joel. So, I do, too!

When I was 13, it was rumored that our school bus driver had flown a fighter jet in Vietnam years before. My dad was over there in the 60s, and he said he doubted it very much. Women were not fighter pilots back then. They did fly transport and resupply, but the story I heard was that Mrs. Johnson had been an ace with 9 kills. Which just goes to show that, when you're a kid, it is easy to turn most any adult into a legend.

Let me tell you about drama class. When we picked our curriculum for the new year, only Math, English and Technology were required studies. The county had a whole raft of other stuff we could choose from to fill out our schedules, and Donnie and I both had taken stuff we liked and felt was good for us, like Twentieth Century History, and Earth Science. Having a loving, supportive family is a treasure. Having loving and supportive friends is a lot harder to come by. If you are lucky enough to have them, you'd better take good care of them!

So that's what we did. People still watched us, and people still talked. Greg kept us informed of the gossip, and also that Dickie and his boys were busy behind the scenes trying to stir up trouble. Greg was just as busy, telling people to cool it. He said we had more friends than we knew, and not to worry about a thing. Dottie was also supportive.
