Who's left? Wow. Not everyone that has skwish gets a very long life out of it. While unsaid, I think it's reasonable to assume that extreme longevity is also a particular talent, and not everyone will have it. Skwish may give everyone a very good life, a century or so, and all the very able users longer lives. The elves seem to all have the longevity, but they are also very able users, taught virtually from birth. Humans have some catching up to do. Nicholaas was generally aware of other long-lived users out there, as was Robin. Whether any of these people will prove to be older and abler than our favorite two...is for the future.

As Max said, 'it's a big world'. Charlie's world has grown considerably in 23 adventures. Where his world will take him and the gang next...is anyone's guess! It's a pleasure to have good and constant companions in these travels. Thanks to you, and all the others, for joining me on this particular road.

Max got a nice welcome from everyone, once the surprise at his appearance was over. Charlie was dealing with having his train of thought derailed, and it took a moment for him to come around, is all. 'The human race is uniquely talented in tearing itself down and destroying all it's progress.' Some part of it is. There are a lot of people in the world that want the place to be better. They have to learn to deal with the people that feel they have a right to make the world their own. The planet belongs to all of us, not just to those who have staked a claim to parts of it for their own little empires.

Thanks. You always point out to me the endless possibilities that the story line has accrued within, and I very much appreciate that you are interested enough to follow it all. I do want to do more side tales like the Pacha'Ka adventure. I guess we'll see what happens! Oh, Irving answers the phone when the guys and Amy are away. He can sound like any one of them, too. So it's mostly as if Amy was there to answer the phone, whether she is or not! 😄

Thank you. I feel like Charlie and the gang have had some interesting adventures out in the universe so far, but that maybe it's time for them to relax a little and get to know their own planet a little better. There are mysteries here, waiting to be understood. The stars will always be there, when they are ready to go back.

Thanks for the very kind words. Like the guys in the story have found, seeking things beyond what we know is our place in life. And because there are always things out there that are beyond what we know, there will always be new things to seek. And, so far, it's been fun!

Amy seems to be having fun. And, she is a good contributor to the action. I'm pretty sure she'll get a raise and add 'adventurer' to her list of office duties. Browbeat is finding his place. He likes Robin, so Robin's dark side can only be so black!

Being human is the most complex thing there is on this planet. Some are better at it than others. Some are deliberately worse. But I do agree that the innate civility of most needs to be tempered with an edge of steel. Too often we sit back and let the bad players run rampant. At some point, the majority needs to tire of it, and get the will to act. Otherwise, at the old saying goes, 'history repeats', and it will just continue to do that, ad nauseum.

I won't comment on the story until it's done. But I will say that Amy is a nice addition, and that I hope she'll agree to come along on other adventures.

Robin has been around 800 years, and has had his own experiences with tyrants. It should be no surprise that he has no qualms about giving as good as he gets. But I don't see Charlie and the guys doing that, no.
