That would make quite a résumé for an actor:
Played angry native in King Kong (1933).
Played angry native in Tarzan and His Mate (1934).
Played angry native in Tarzan Escapes (1936)
Played angry native in Tarzan's Revenge (1938).
Played angry native in Five Came Back (1939).
Played angry native in White Cargo (1942).
Played angry native in Jungle Queen (1945).
Played angry native in Jungle Jim (1948).
Played angry native in King Solomon's Mines (1950).
"Quite a résumé you have there, my good man. But...tell me. Can you play a native who is NOT angry?"
True. In the scene on Skull Island, when Carl Denham. Jack Driscoll, and Ann Darrow creep into the village in their search for Kong, and hear the drums going, and see people dancing by the firelight, no one turns to anyone else and says, "Bet these guys are from Brooklyn!"
The Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania were much like the Catskills mountains of New York. The northeastern region of the country shared a similar geography and a similar biosphere, making their trip south a pleasurable and familiar one. The town of Jim Thorpe was not quite as far south as the drive to Allentown had been, but because the smaller town was well off the Interstate and they had to use a back road to get there, it took almost the same four hours to drive.
"Now that we've become us
Nope. Actually, a nice guy, and a friend. He was thinking of it perhaps building suspense a little. NOT that it would bring people out with pitchforks and scythes!
