1. I thought so too! I'm still not sure. I think in that culture it is so unexpected and unheard of that it is completely unexpected. Plus culturally men bond so differently. It's not gay to hold another guy's hand or cuddle. It's fascinating to me. I would love to take a semester or year over there and just watch it all.
2. +{-Noah’s Starship-}+ -+-[October Part 1]-+- “No you can’t throw this out! This one is my favorite! What else is in here?” I grabbed for the white tank top he had carelessly placed in a bag of clothes to donate. “Why not? They are old clothes and this one has a hole in the stitching on the side,” Navid took the shirt from me and showed me where the side was coming undone a bit. “You were wearing it the first day I met you,” I admitted and crouched down to see what else was in the bag.
3. Good job! Happy ending to this chapter. I listened to three chapters this morning on the treadmill at the gym. They definitely help distract me from the long run ahead. You do a great job of laying out some of the things we all deal with in good relationships. Thanks -Emri
4. Thank you Drew, This was based on my own relationship with the Persian guy I met last summer in a class. We are still happily together. He has made some progress towards not seeing me as his little wife to be protected, but then sometimes he slips back. But overall it is what works for us and even our biggest arguments don't last more than an hour. I think going from Iran to Los Angeles, even though we have a ton of Iranian people here, just exploded his world and sometimes he gets pushed too far and runs back to his traditional mode. But he is always loving with it. He means well.
5. Thanks you! It worked. I Tried like everything. You are awesome
6. I am All about Spirits by Strumbellas this week. Sorry I don't know how to post it like a video. Sorry, new to this and can't find anything on it in the help areas. But it's a good song!
7. Kettleman City, California (The place you stop for Starbuck's halfway to San Francisco). Thanks everyone! -Emri
8. I was raised by a dad who loves 80/90's alternative music so I know it well. He still plays them on CD's in his car. I think for us it's nostalgic of good times growing up. So it's still good to hear sometimes. My boyfriend is from Iran and for an odd reason he likes older country music. He says he heard it in English classes where they played it because it is slower and easy to understand somehow. So he listened to it a lot on his own. I don't know, but it drives me crazy when he plays it in the car. I'm learning to be ok with it.
9. That's interesting! I don't know about that world, but yeah that makes sense. I hope he does well. It's interesting to me. I never realized until I started dating a Middle Eastern guy just how much advertising makes you think the world is white and super athletic, even when they're eating fast food and drinking a ton of alcohol.
10. Wow that is crazy. Those are all gone, as far as I know, in Los Angeles. I remember being little and my dad holding my hand while he picked out a video game for himself and then a cartoon for me. But man that was a long time ago and I couldn't even tell you what shopping center it was in. Now we use redbox.

A Love Machine

That is funny and so true about guys being sick.

Delicious

Ashkan, my guy, did this to me once when his friends were headed over and he had promised dinner. I got so upset but made them tacos that turned out ok. LoL. You definitely have a grasp on some relationship universals. Good chapter
15. Thanks. I know it is not to everyone's taste how dominant Middle Eastern guys can be. He was raised to be in control in a relationship. It's what his culture says is being a good man. It's a culture that seems strange and wrong to most of us over here. But he has definitely changed for me and I have gotten used to understanding how he shows his love. You're right, he is 7 years older and sees me as a child sometimes. It gets better though!
