    The April Fool

Indeed. Just Billy disregarding Brett's feelings once again. It's become too easy for him.

    The April Fool

Yeah, neither one is my idea of a good time. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

    The April Fool

Not like Brett to seek revenge, right?

    The April Fool

Well Billy did, at least! Poor Brett's eye... Maybe a few months earlier Billy might have considered it. Now it's personal. Billy won't be giving up anything to her. Billy would have been bad for Dustin. Dustin would have let Billy run him over. As for Brett, we'll see!

    The April Fool

It's a sign of Billy's arrogance, his disregard for Brett's feelings. He's blinded himself to what's right in front of him.

    The April Fool

I can't compete with a cultural classic! Such pressure! lol!

    The April Fool

Glad you liked it! This was one of those moments where reality takes over. Not every sexual experience is awesome for both partners. (And it also shows how Billy is totally misreading Brett and taking him for granted.)

    The April Fool

Brett is right, it burns! You may be right about hell breaking loose! Should be interesting!

    Love Rivals

Excellent as always, Comsie! What's really fun is when your readers start shipping your protagonist with the rival! It's fun to play in that sandbox.
  11. As March turned into April, the light at the end of the tunnel was getting closer. Only two more months and school would be behind me. I decided on a college. I was going to go to the University of Pittsburgh. I hadn’t decided what to study yet. It didn’t matter at that point. It was nice to know that my education was going to be paid for by Brett’s parents. I felt guilty about it at first, but after a while, I didn’t feel so bad. After all, they had been lying to Brett for years. They
  12. Alas! All I do is copy from Word and paste it in the box. Well, thanks for going through the extra step to read it!
  13. Did this chapter render okay? is it previous chapters that had trouble? I just hate plain Arial text for stories, that's all. So dull.
  14. Is it jig or gig? I feel like Brett! Anyway, yep, Jack likes to manipulate every situation to his advantage. It would be hard to blindside him. On a totally unrelated note, I was so tired when I posted this chapter that I forgot to click on the option to keep my formatting. I hate the way this chapter looks. Oh well. I'll deal with it.
  15. The answer is already hidden in the story somewhere. Oh sure, I could tell you where it is, but that'd spoil the fun. And if you figure it out, don't tell anybody! If you must tell somebody, send me a PM.
  16. I think Jack realizes the jig is almost up, but who wants to throw their life into a state of chaos? Who wants to destroy their marriage and damage their reputation? Yes, there is more to learn. We'll find out eventually.
  17. Thanks dude! We're moving toward that happy ending! Still some bumps in the road yet to go though! Brett breaking his leg is probably the key to unlocking the rest of the story. Almost everything that's about to happen is a result of that accident.
  18. Almost like he's tired of hiding and wants to be caught after almost nineteen years of lies. Jack's story is more complicated than it appears from Billy's perspective. Can you imagine lying to your spouse for almost two decades? I think he was prepared either way when he told Billy to tell Brett the truth in the hospital. Like it would almost be a relief to have it be over. And you're right, it was make up sex that led to the make-up baby. Joey is a month younger than Brett.
  19. His initials spell WAR for the love of God!
  20. I'll put it this way, Commencement is the end of Billy's story.
  21. Is there an emoji for pointing at one's own nose like you would in charades for when you hit the nail on the head? Lots of unresolved guilt there. But we'll talk about that... in a future chapter! Mwahahahahahahahahahaahaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Two and a half words: Make-up baby. Joey was the result of Jack feeling guilty over his infidelity.
  22. Yeah, but now they'll start to fall faster!
  23. Thank you! It almost seems like Jen and Paula are coming from opposite directions, meeting in the middle, and will go zooming past each other. As for Jack, I think his brother's legacy had to have left a deep impact on him, one that he's tried to bury for eighteen years. Your memory is spot on! George did tell Billy that he should let Brett "mess around with it.," and that he and Brett would figure out why it is such a big deal together. (It's only taken 35 chapters to start paying that little foreshadowing moment off!)
  24. You will definitely find out the answer to this in a future chapter! And it's WAR, so you know it'll be solved in a mature and reasonable way.
  25. A bored Brett is a dangerous situation for a lot of people!
