Myr's post in Notifications of things I don't need to really know was marked as the answer
Notifications are now working in full. Before, it seemed to be randomly notifying groups of 25 people instead of everyone. With the last update on the 30th, everyone is getting notified.
If you don't want a notification when a story/chapter is updated, uncheck the "Notify me when story/chapter I follow is updated" The below screenshot are my own settings. I have that off myself.
If you don't care about comments on stories you follow, turn that off.
If you are an author, I'd recommend leaving on the two settings for "story I authored"
Just go to your Notification settings here:
https://www.gayauthors.org/notifications/options/

Myr's post in Not receiving story notifications was marked as the answer
There is a notification bug we're working on that's been with us for some time. You can typically get around it by making sure your notification settings have turned on the "Notify me when a chapter is posted to a story I like" here:
https://www.gayauthors.org/notifications/options/
Then just "Like" the stories you want notifications on. Hopefully, we finally get this bug fixed soon.

Myr's post in advanced search facility was marked as the answer
@grahamsealby
Cia's response works best under the current system. The upcoming update to the stories software, which will hopefully be posted this week, handles this better. There is not a separate advanced search page any more with the new version. When you click forward to read a story and then click back, it returns to your search results (the blue highlights show what is being filtered)

Myr's post in Lag Spikes When Posting was marked as the answer
We have switched back to the internal search system. This should speed things back up, but you're going to see the search index building dialog for awhile.

Myr's post in Reason for edit was marked as the answer
It's the way the software is implemented. They aren't always consistent on features and Stories is usually lagging when a feature of the base software changes.

Myr's post in Respond to this review was marked as the answer
With the update to 4.3.X version of the forums, the underlying software allows for a single reply to a review from the content owner. This feature support has not been rolled out into the Stories Module (yet). As I've been without useful internet since Friday, I'm a touch behind on the software stuff, so, it'll be awhile yet until that feature is in and working. I think.

It sounds like you had a corrupted cookie/cache and it corrected itself.

Myr's post in Latest story updates was marked as the answer
I'll add it to my evergrowing list. The system is tested and works when you post a chapter immediately or post a chapter for publishing at a set time. As soon as you start doing edits on an unpublished chapter, whether that is unpublished or unpublished and set for a posting time, it's starts doing strange things. There is also possibly a malfunctioning date based security feature. The system is made to publish stories... not use it at a word processor.
Best advice until we sort things out...
Don't put anything into the system until it is ready to publish. Use the Preview button. It works. Publish immediately. For the love of all that is holy, if it doesn't post looking correct, do not unpublish. Just edit it immediately. When you publish, it triggers the notifications and when you unpublish after that, it triggers support requests saying such and such a story was announced but is now missing.

It's at your end. Try logging off the site and back in. If that doesn't work, try clearing the cache.

Myr's post in Notifications was marked as the answer
Depends on your notifications:
https://www.gayauthors.org/notifications/options/
For content you follow, you'll get online notification if the left check mark is checked. And Emails if the Right check mark is checked.
In this case, I do NOT get emails.
Stories also allows for notifications for other things:
In theory, if you Follow an Author, you'll get alerted if they post a new story. If you follow a story, you'll get alerted to new Chapter.
If you select any of the options in Stories section of notifications (Shown above), then you should get notified in those cases as well.
I'm saying should here because we've had an issue with not everyone getting notified every time when they should. Something we're still working on.

The server is currently locked up on that task and is tied to ongoing issues. We are working with our programmer and support to deal with it.

Myr's post in Isn’t editor supposed to clear after posting comment? was marked as the answer
That happens from time to time, but there should be a pop up at the bottom of the editor that asks if you want to clear it. I'm not sure how the narrator would pick up on it though.

@ReaderPaul This video should help you with your author searching.
@Timothy M. The Review/Comments error is fixed in the upcoming story software update. We are reviewing the code now for issues.

Yes. Please try posting the next chapter live instead of post-dating it.

A bug issue with the software control. You should be able to link in notes now.

Myr's post in Age Question was marked as the answer
The birthdate field was a recent addition and the age field is legacy. It will be removed in the future. It is not longer a required field, so you can just ignore it.

I use FireFox more than Chrome on the site.. but I do use both and haven't really noticed on real difference. It is very common to have both open at the same time.

Myr's post in Like count on chapter comments was marked as the answer
Thank you for the information. We'll contact folks in private if we need more. The issue has been reported to the programmer, but we'll be unable to patch for awhile. He is working on the new version of the software.

Myr's post in Font size in the story editor was marked as the answer
There is a chapter title field for the chapter title and the chapter text field is for chapter text only. There is no need for the title to be repeated in the chapter.
As a general rule, text sizing and style should be stripped when you paste into the editor.
As a side note, there is also a "Chapter Note" and "Chapter End Note" for author notes. Again with these, the Chapter Text field is for Chapter Text ONLY.
Please avoid putting anything other than cleanly formatted chapter text in the chapter text field. It's likely that it will cause issues with the chapter text controls and require you to fix in the future.

Myr's post in suggestion for a mobile app was marked as the answer
Gay Authors uses a responsive web design that works quite well on mobile. Developing a separate app would not be a cost-effective way to spend our limited resources at this time.
