Links in stories and chapters

In the text editor for this topic there is a Link symbol next to the Quote symbol. It is a small chain link to the left of the symbol.

We used to have the same symbol in the text editor for story notes, chapter notes and chapter text.

I often use them to refer to topics in the forums, eg story discussion topics or special prompts, as in my fire extinguisher story.

However, this option is not available at the moment. I get around it by going to a topic and preparing the embedded link and then copying the words to the notes. But it's a bit cumbersome.

Will the link option return? If not, is that a sign you don't want us to use it, but would prefer non-embedded links? I apologize, if you've already covered this matter elsewhere.

I'm on a laptop with Google Chrome.

It is a sign that Chapter Text is for Chapter Text only.  Notes, links and the like belong in the Chapter Notes and Chapter End Notes.

But I can't put an embedded link in the Notes either. That's why I'm asking. It's much more important there, and I can easily do without in the Chapter text.

I noticed this yesterday while thinking about including a link to my external blog in the end notes to a story.

A bug issue with the software control.  You should be able to link in notes now.
