    Chapter 40

    I whole heartily agree.
  2. Louise arrived after noon and immediately went up to her father’s room with little said to anyone. It was the Fourth of July and most of the country was getting ready to celebrate our independence. I had found some things from the grocery stores around there Kathleen got her supplies the day before and was making dinner for the family. Tony came down in the kitchen where I was working. I glanced at him carefully as he came over, put his arms around me from behind and hugged me, burying his

    Chapter 39

Wait no longer. Here it is.

    Chapter 39

Wow, fifty-three years! The is happiness in sadness. That's impressive.

    Chapter 39

I shed a few tears remembering what happened. Writing it down just made it real again.

    Chapter 39

Add they still are. Kathy, Louise and all the nieces and nephews are still a very good family. I'm lucky they consider me family as well.

    Chapter 39

I just wanted to show that love is more than good times. We show love in the tough times as well. I was there for my husband. He knows that. But I deal with other things in the next few chapters.
  8. It was easy to say that Italians were passionate people. This Italian family was certainly that. Tony felt deep feelings about people, me, his sisters and brothers, his son, nieces, and nephews. I saw him slowly get ready to go to bed in the room I found out was his when he was growing up. His parents had not quite left it like my parents had left mine. There were things I knew were Angelo’s where he worked on projects and things, but it had things from Tony’s past. I’d look at some of those thi

    Chapter 38

Real life has to happen. Keep the power on, make money to pay bills...I will have more. Patience.

    Chapter 38

You've got to be around a while yet, I depend on your left brained input. Keep me on track. But yes, both at once was surprising and you know what happened because I told you. Without letting everyone know, I'm just writing it down.
  11. As much fun as we had on our vacation, the next morning was not. We arrived in Tampa during the night. We’d packed the night before, even before going to dinner. Like those ever present and inevitable lifeboat drills before really getting into the trip, there was the disembarking. Not fun. It was ordered chaos! It wasn’t that it was early, it was early, but we had to clear out of our suite so the ship could get ready for the new passengers to arrive later that day. Then Sasha and the other crew
  12. I loved it! Young love is great, but those of us older than teenagers and young adults fall in love, too. I remember the seventies and eighties. I was nearly fifty when I met my husband. We have more drama, but more victories. Thanks!

    Chapter 37

Things aren't always rosey. The next few chapters will test these two. Be ready for some real drama.

    Chapter 37

I knew you'd be the only one to get the Mitch and Eric being the same. It was a test, which you, of course passed! And don't count Sasha out. But John and Ian are too far away. I'm not done with Sasha.
  15. Now things were really getting lively. The guys were happy for us and enjoying some of our wedding cake. Sasha walked over, it was after midnight. “Will you need anything else?” You could tell he was finished for the evening. Tony shook his head. “You’ve been great.” Then as Sasha nodded and turned to leave. “Sasha, wait.” Sasha turned around at that. “I don’t know if there are rules about being friends with passengers. Do you have an early day tomorrow?” Tony asked. Sasha sh

    Chapter 36

Never give up hope. Tony was older, Mitch was not young. Failed relationships on both sides, but when it happened. Wham!

    Chapter 36

Our real cake was vacuum sealed until last November. It tasted just fine. The badge is a good idea. Wished I'd thought of it. We both Mitch had one.
  18. And of course, once back on the ship, Glenn and Scott just kept going on and on about what they’d been through. This was becoming a grander and grander tale the more they told it. Sort of like the story about the fish that got away was always bigger and bigger. “And he never shouted!” Glenn said like it would be hard to be believed. “Not once.” Tony chuckled. “Mitch never shouts, unless he’s shouting at me.” I rolled my eyes. “I never shout at you, Tony, unless you shout at me.”

    Chapter 35

some times being quiet is louder than shouting. Mitch knew that, but made sure Larry was listening.

    Chapter 35

But he's not a prince in this story. He's just Seth. You'll hear more from them after Martinique. My husband and I faced the homophobia when on vacation. Like we almost refused to get off in Jamaica.
  21. The sun came in bright through our windows when I finally woke up. Tony was in his normal place, right behind me. That bed was so comfortable, I hated to get out of it, but nature was calling. I slipped out and did what I needed to do, then came back to find Tony resting on his elbow smiling at me. “Sorry. Had to go.” I said slipping back in beside him. He groaned. “Now I gotta go too.” He got up and did what he needed to. I looked out the window at the water beyond. This was a dream.

    Chapter 34

Caught that, did you. I always want to be a character. So I'm published here. That was fiction.
  23. We watched the city get smaller in the distance and the vast water ahead. This was a very exciting time for me. I will admit that being onboard this ship was like nothing I had expected. One, because everything was just…well, it was like it was almost overkilled to make us enjoy it. Service was almost instant. And the ship seemed to be…what it was. To enjoy and make sure everything was not just fine, but great! Wow! That was the business, I learned. I was a cruise virgin on my first cruise. Natu

    Chapter 33

When it comes to race or just plain understanding that people are different, even gay men are guilty. Gay men are often intolerant of other gay men. Tony educated me and I educated Tony. Common curtsy is far from common. Everyone needs to be accepted.
  25. The scare with Angelo, who hated being fussed over sort of shook us all. Of course Al and Kathy, they were both a doctor and nurse, did an assessment, which Angelo barely tolerated as they checked his heart and pulse. Al sighed more satisfied as he put his stethoscope away. “Well, it’s not his heart.” “I told you, I’m old!” Angelo stated again loud. “You ache. That’s life.” Kathy rolled her eyes at her stubborn father. “Yes, Papa, that’s life, but pain is a signal that says someth
