Freddy's father may have already had the conversation with his son, but seeing how closed off Freddy can be, it's going to take more talks before things begin to resolve. Perhaps he's looking for Rick to help his son's lack of self-confidence. Rick might be the person to do just that, already chipping away Freddy's armor bit by bit and hopefully it breaks soon since they really only have one month before the wedding. So, it's going to take some effort from Freddy as well if the armor is going to fall apart.

Rick being his sister's ex-boyfriend certainly complicates things, but hopefully Freddy can look past that and see Rick as a person who has faced similar struggles that they can bond over if Freddy just opens up to him. More will be learned about Freddy as the story continues, and we'll see soon if Freddy has feelings for the blond puppeteer in the next chapter that will be posted soon. Thanks for commenting!

Yeah, Freddy has had a very difficult past with his father; however, it appears that he's trying to mend things with his son by recommending him to be the town's new sheriff. It's going to take more time and forgiveness for their relationship as father and son to fully heal. And it appears that Rick might be the solution to Freddy's inner turmoil, and hopefully Freddy sees that.

So, the burger patties Beth’s father began grilling at the backyard weren’t actually vegan, considering the amount of cheese he put both on and inside the patties. I also glanced at the ingredients on the burger-bun packaging which included dairy. I guess deep frying the burgers still makes it vegan haha. Rick might be disappointed with the results, especially after his breakfast of blueberry waffles and bacon pancakes. 😛

Thank you! Now that Rick and Freddy will be staying in the same place, or at least until the water returns at O'Leary's, more sparks will be inevitable that could eventually lead to fireworks. More is definitely on the way.

Haha! I mean, I think any food can taste great if prepared right, but that's just my opinion. Also, it appears that Rick is quite the ladies' man just like Freddy despite the obvious fact of course. And the mother should've guessed where her son was staying, considering he wasn't lodging in his parents' house, until now.

Ariel came through with her offer, and an hour later she and her staff were able to bake enough pandesal to satisfy an entire book club. I sampled the final product, and the bread rolls were just as fluffy and tasty as the ones I had back in the city. Sorry for the unusual word choices and phrasing. I mostly write down what appears in my head, and of course not everything in a person's head makes sense when put on paper. Though I'm glad you find the characters in this story interesting and that they keep you entertained as the story continues. I'm surprised to see the traction that this story has gotten, especially since this is the first story that I posted here that doesn't have any elements of sci-fi or fantasy. So, I'll try to update with new chapters as much as possible. Thank you for your comment! 🙂

Very true. Freddy may already know who he is in terms of his sexuality, but when it comes to knowing other people like Rick, he definitely needs some reassessment rather than jumping to conclusions. Thanks again for the comments!

Great to know that someone's rooting for Freddy! He certainly doesn't hold back and gets what he wants like that male servant's lips in the bathroom. You're right that it's going to take a lot of elbow grease from Rick to try to break into Freddy's hardened shell and see who he really is inside. Beth is the kind of person we should all strive to be. Rick coming out during the day of graduation was certainly ill-timed; however, like you said the reader doesn't know all the details to what led up to that event, at least not yet. Regardless, Beth is a very strong character both inside and out when considering the powerful hug she gave Rick. Playing matchmaker with her ex-boyfriend and older brother is going to be difficult based on the few tense interactions they had, but hopefully her plans come to fruition if that is her intent. Aaron is a very lucky man to be Beth's future husband, but only time will tell if they're truly compatible. Also, where the two men will be staying will indeed be interesting to discover. It is known that Freddy's has snooped through Rick's social media when he mentioned how Rick posted pictures of him and Beth together. So, despite them not knowing each other directly since Freddy was already a senior in high school when he and his family moved to Beckett, Freddy was able to see through the mask that Rick put on while online. And it's quite possible that Freddy discovering where Rick is lodging at could create more conflict. At least Rick won't be able to snoop since the room doesn't seem to have anything worth looking at.

Freddy's stony exterior definitely softened a bit. Also, Rick was very fortunate to come across another New Yorker who knew who to make the Filipino bread rolls. Hopefully, the book club will be impressed.

Yes, perhaps Rick's answer showed to Freddy that his sister's former boyfriend isn't who he perceived him as. Hopefully, Freddy continues to loosen up as the wedding approaches.

I woke up upon hearing the alarm from my phone blaring on the nightstand. It took several attempts to reach for the device before finally turning it off.
