I took a step forward, wanting to reach my hand out to the woman who could only be my Annabella. Her eyes widened like she just realized who I was as well, and during this moment, I thought that dream of seeing her again finally came true. “Annabella?” She took a step back, and with crossed arms said, “I’m not Annabella.” I stopped my approach towards her, and after blinking several times, I said, “But you look just like her. Like…exactly like her.” “You’re right, I do look exact

Hopefully, Damien will be able to learn more about Annabella’s past since it is very apparent she has been very secretive about her family for example. And maybe get some kind of closure as well. Also, thank you for liking the origin of Odin who also only has one eye in the original mythology. 😉
-
Yes, Damien still has a lot to learn about his own son and the social cues Austin is giving to indirectly tell his father this very difficult truth. And we'll see how much this woman resembles Annabella, not just on the outside, but in the inside as well.
-
Thank you! We'll get to know more about who this woman is aside from knowing that she's Annabella's sister.

Nice analysis there. Also, it makes sense that a lycan went to ancient Egypt and became the dog-headed god known as Set since he is commonly associated with chaos and fire, very similar to Hades. And Austin getting nervous and stumbling around because of Anthony is very cute indeed. We have to wonder if his infatuation for his father's friend just a crush or if it's something much more. We'll see as things continue to brew between these two men as well as the romance between Damien and Will.

“A date, huh? Have you been in one of those before?” Anthony asked as he his shoulder leaned against the doorframe of the bathroom. “Funny,” I said as I looked at the mirror and tried to tie my bowtie of my newly rented tuxedo. “Very, very amusing. Anyways, so you’re going to stay behind and watch after the kids, right?” “Will do! I also rented a couple of movies online for me and Austin to watch later if you don’t mind of course.” “As long as it’s not porn, I think you’ll be fine… D

Yay! Great! 😄

Thank you! It's always fun for me to do. And hopefully the romance between Damien and a century-year-old vampire is also very satisfying to read.
-
Thank you as well! I love twisting mythology and ancient history to suit the plot of my stories, and I'm really happy that you all love it. More interesting lore will definitely be on the way. 😁
-
And let's not forget the merpeople who are linked to Poseidon. Sometimes historical facts and events get twisted as time passes, so why not for mythology as well which is also a part of history within this world of not only humans, but also vampires, lycans, merpeople, and even more. So, Cerberus is not a literal, three-headed dog monster, but a threatening oligarchy that was led by three lycans instead. More twists to popular myths will come as the story continues.
-
Thank you! I wanted a more original, unique twist to the origin of vampires, so why not connect their origins to the Greek gods. Glad that you like it. And there will be more vampire lore as the story continues.

Yes, drinking heavily only leads to negative consequences, from a really bad hangover to damaging a person's relationships with friends and family. So, hopefully Anthony knows that he has Damien and his friend's family by his side for support when things get rough. Also, why the vampires are interested in the history of Annabella will be explored as the story continues. What I will say for now is that not everything is so cut and dry involving Damien's wife.

I collapsed onto the couch, relieved that the birthday party was a major success, but was also finally over. After the last guest was picked up by her parents, I made it my mission to clean up the entire living room and kitchen rather than wait until tomorrow when the ants could seize this opportunity. Luckily, the girls offered their help, which I was very grateful, and after they taken all of their gifts to their bedroom, they got ready for bed and almost instantly fell asleep from all the sug

Yes, it appears that being a single father has worn him out, and a special someone can ease that pain for him if he'll allow it. You'll soon find out who that someone is in the next chapter. 😉
-
Yes, escaping his apartment after some deranged woman punched him in the face wouldn't have allowed him to properly hide his true form in whatever manner that could've been. Thank you for providing your thoughts on this situation. It will be addressed soon in a future chapter. 😀
-
Good question. I'll just say that since lycans assumingly live in the countryside, they could've isolated themselves from most of human society, making their existence more easily contained versus vampires who have become mainstream.
-
Haha, I'm glad I surprised you! And one has to wonder what other supernatural beings other than vampires and lycans exist in this world. 😉
-
Thank you! More chapters are on the way. 😁

Thanks again for commenting. Yes, the realization that Will and Damien belong to two feuding, supernatural races isn't the best ice breaker in my opinion. We'll see if they can put their differences aside and prevent more conflict from brewing.

Luckily no ten-year-old children were harmed during the verbal altercation between Will the vampire and Anthony the lycan. Also, one has to wonder what Austin thinks about all of this. One, he realizes the man he's most likely crushing on is a supernatural being with a troubled, past home life. And two, his father was kissing another man who is also a vampire. Seems like this party was just as exciting for him as it was for Damien and the birthday girls. And it also appears that not only does Damien have deep secrets, but Anthony and apparently his wife do as well. More secrets will be revealed and explained as the story continues. Thank you for commenting again. I always look forward to reading them.

Isabel and Joanna’s birthday party was hectic to say the least. A week of planning beforehand didn’t prepare me for what came next; more than two dozen girls and boys fueled with sugar, sugar, and even more sugar was complete chaos, especially since only one other parent offered to stay and help with the rowdy kids. And it sucked when Anthony called to tell me that he couldn’t arrive until later. Family drama from what I could tell from my phone conversation. However, eventually she had to l

Haha, yes! Like father, like son it seems. And it appears that Will is very physically appealing even though he's more than century old but still looks like he's in his twenties. More explanation to the vampires' power of immortality will come soon. And thank you again for commenting!

Yes, the trauma Damien experienced from the literal hands of his father caused him to hide a significant part of himself for such a long time. One has to wonder though. Did Annabella know this side of her husband, or did he also hide this from her as well? Also, Austin's crush on his father's friend is apparent now, and hopefully he doesn't get hurt by whatever the outcome is. He's only eighteen years old after all.
-
Definitely! However, the real test will be during the twins' birthday when both he and Will appear. Hopefully, everyone will remain civil for the sake of the girls.

Patting my stomach, my kids, my friend, and I walked out of the restaurant with full bellies and smiles on all our faces. We decided to explore the boardwalk a bit and eventually the girls stopped by a stand where they looked at jewelry made of seashells. While the girls examined the collection available, Austin and Anthony were close by, chatting about something that was making of them both laugh hysterically. I didn’t always understand my friend’s humor, but it seemed that Austin enjoyed a
