The interesting part is Sparkles understands Kohen. On top of that there are eggs about to hatch that have his DNA as well. Will they be able to communicate with Kohen? What were they bred for? What IS special about Kohen that they are trying to create a new life form just to keep his DNA?
-
Wow now you've peaked my interest again. Ughhh Now I'm going to be wanting updates more often. LOL. But I love the concept. How did Sparkles get Kohen's DNA? How did the doctor hide Sparkles? Will Sparkles and Kohen be able to communicate clearly? And will Sparkles be a protector when the next set of dangers come for the crew?
-
I LOVE Sparkles. I'll be interested in seeing where this is leading.

An interesting twist. I wonder if she if acting to be able to thwart the actions of the crew.

OH man you had me almost bawling. I'm sitting at work and I'm sure they are wondering why I'm crying. I'm glad Loz is getting the help he needs and the acceptance he needs from family. Many Many families won't accept their gay kids. Even the ones that do accept their gay kid would have thrown him out on the street for raping another guy.

That's tough because there's only chemical imbalances that are causing your depression and anxiety. I was on pills for a while too but my mind was so muddled that I couldn't think straight. I quit taking them because it was affecting my job. Have you tried CBD oil and/or St John's Wart? My depression and anxiety is from trying to help someone that simply doesn't want to do anything other than be addicted to something, beg for money and waste what little bit of money he gets off his disability. I would have already gotten rid of him but he has a daughter that I've raised. I'm trying to figure out a way to get him out and still keep his daughter. I'm probably going to have to work two jobs for a while so I can hire an attorney to prove he's an unfit father and get custody of her. Then just move away with her because he won't leave.

I"m expecting twists and turns. I'm hoping everything will turn out ok but very honestly I've read stories that are of abused or bullied kids and the main character who you are hoping ends up being rescued, gets killed or commits suicide at the end of the story. I would be sorely disappointed but in reality that does happen. Just as long as the ending has someone that talks about the alternatives to suicide and/or suicide prevention for those that read the story. Or talks about finding someone that will help with the abuse and not staying in a situation which could end up with the young person getting killed. Our youth needs reality but they need to know how to keep out of that reality themselves.

Loved this chapter. Well I've loved all the chapters. There are kids going through this shit and there needs to be some awareness to it. Glad you're going toward a happy ending. It may not turn out like I expect but THANKS for bringing Daniel some friendship. And THANKS for making Loz think, and, seem like someone that may actually be a decent person (even though he did rape Daniel). Rape is never cool but I remember being a kid and being mixed up with no one to talk to and parents that would have beat my ass and probably have kicked me out of the house for being gay. If I had been a different person I might have done the same as Loz. Thank God I didn't.

Great chapter. The background explains why Daniel would put up with what he's going through. It's sad but there are really kids like that out in the world. Some have it even worse than that. It's good to see him opening up to someone who cares about him. And it's good to see him with someone that cares about him. Most kids like that fall for someone that would use or abuse them and think it's ok.

What the hell is that?
Charlie.Surfer commented on Ivor Slipper's story chapter in What the hell is that?
I'm on the fence on what should happen. I (me personally) would try to go back and see if I could find the owners of the land back in those days and see if there might be an obituary in the newspapers. Being the start of a fairly interesting story I might opt to have a surprise result of the owners of the cards and honestly not sure which direction I would take the boys (they are very young). I've googled complete sets of baseball card from the US and (in my short search) I could only find partially complete sets from the 30s. The price of the partially complete sets ranged from a few dollars all the way up to $65,000. I would only guess that a totally complete set might go for 10 times that of a partially complete set, more if they were auctioned to collectors. As for land: Record keeping back in the 30s could be difficult. I was born in 1964 in rural Tennessee. My grandfather was cutting timber and was given the land by the government in the 40s and 50s. (long story as to why I'm not a multi-millionaire from the thousands of acres of land he cut timber from) I would bet that there were many houses built in the foothills of the smoky mountains (south eastern TN) that never had any land owner records. Squatter's rights were in effect back then and the land was given to them by the government after they proved that they had a house built on the land. That was in the US and in a very rural place. I honestly have no idea what country or if in the US what state this could be in. I'm assuming that it's in modern times because of the non-discrimination policy at school (those are very recent things {at least here in the south}). I'm also wondering where they call their fathers 'pa' in modern times. Because as much as the gay world has endeared the term 'daddy' as a hot man, I still call my father 'daddy'. And a lot of places that I've been in the US they call their fathers 'dad' or 'father' sometimes 'pops' or 'pop' or 'poppa'. But I'm not an expert on that either so maybe I'm missing some information. That being said trying to find someone that has rented a house would most likely be impossible unless it's very close to a major city. Finding someone that owned a house might be possible and wouldn't be very hard because within the US because all deeds are recorded in the courthouse and document who the land passed from and to whom it was passed. The current deed also references the previous deed and tells what book it is in. It is also recorded as parcel and tract so even if the name got lost in the middle it can still be traced back. So it's a fairly doable job to trace a piece of land back as far as the records go. And it is totally free unless you hire someone to do it. And the folks in the records office will help you figure it all out. (Yes I have experience with this) Now the question is how rural is the location and did the county keep good records even back into the 30s and was this a piece of land that may have been broken off some government land and squatted on without records back in the 30s? So that's my 2 cents worth. If you want to consider any of it and use it; feel free. -
Wow that was a 180 degree turn on running from conflict for Trenton. I"m not sure I see what changed for him. Hopefully it's a good change and something that's not going to be a total reversal for him.
-
Trent is not facing up to life like he should. Why does he keep running? Why, when someone confronts him on being gay and telling him to stay away from him, does he RUN from that AND his ship's responsibilities. If he wasn't the rich owner's son he would have been fired from his position on the ship. Then he runs from a man that loves him? He can't see that Mitchell is upset and try to at least console him? He's the reason that Mitchell is upset. After he gets a text begging him to stay he still proceeds on like the man means nothing to him. What a dick!

Sophomore Year - Chapter 11
Charlie.Surfer commented on oat327's story chapter in Sophomore Year - Chapter 11
Wow Now I'm sitting here wondering if Adam will be able to be out when Kevin comes back. Will he step out of his comfort zone to be with someone that is out? Will he want to be with Kevin enough to show the people around him the true person that's there? -
Wow. I like this chapter and had almost gotten into Kevin and his adventures until you brought Becker back into it. It seems like Kevin is still in love with Adam but is very scared that when he gives his true love he will be left and he's scared that he will be hurt (like he's been hurt all his life). Shit! (sniffling trying not to tear up) Now I'm actually hoping that when the stories come back together that they will get back together and make each other happy.

Man is Kevin begging to have his heart ripped out. Even if I'm still mad at him for breaking up with Adam Becker I wouldn't want to see him torn up from being in a relationship that he won't be able to sustain. That and he's being a homewrecker. Even if Sebastian and Duncan are not in the perfect relationship it's never good to interfere in someone else's relationship. And I have to agree that Adam and Kevin aren't much different when it comes to their current lives. They may be there for different reasons but they are both needing some maturity and some growth.
