Gooooooood morning! I have an unexpected late-ish start today, because my new boss hasn't yet got me a set of keys to the office so I can't go in yet

@RayC - originally this was posted over on nifty, but this version has been lightly re-edited, and then expanded. @Benji It's great to know that you're enjoying it. I think the whole process was harder than Kaiden imagined it would be, but things might be looking up a little, maybe? Thanks very much @JeffreyL, even if it does add some pressure! I hope you still feel the same by the time we get to the end

@Defiance19 There's no rush, updates will likely be once a week, but it's not like they're going anywhere so enjoy it at your own pace. Thanks @Rndmrunner, although I always feel slightly uneasy taking any credit for the characters, I think they are way more in control of the story than I am! @Bndmetl Come back next week for more

Today is New Story Day - I’m actually a little nervous, which is weird.

To be fair, there’s some minor editing but most of what you might have read before is still the same. But now the story continues a little further, so you get to see how it all works out, or not, or whatever else might happen in between.

Dad was working late as always, and my little brother Josh was out playing football, as always. Not that he's so little, he's 16 so only a year younger than me. If life was there for the taking, then it might look a lot like Kay Walker’s life. A good family with liberal and accepting attitudes, doing impressively well at college both on and off the field, a big circle of friends, and a promising future. Of course, there are a couple of problems with this picture. Firstly, it wouldn’t make a very interesting story. And secondly, perhaps more importantly, it’s not quite true. Or at least, it’s not the whole picture.

And if you haven’t already found it, the Activity Steam sub-menu gives you a link to latest comments on your story (because actual alerts are still being worked on) and this saves you a lot of time when you get into multiple chapters.

Any time - although honestly, as much as I know it’s a good thing to do I find it hard to pause and leave considered comments when there’s another chapter to read, so I’m not always this ‘good’

Yes, I know that feeling! I hope you enjoy it here. I’ve not been here long but (for the most part) it’s a pretty chilled and pleasant experience. I previously posted on another site but the feedback you get here is much better.
