Wow! This is becoming a regular Lycan menagerie (using the word in its most positive sense), and I have a suspicion that "strength comes from diversity". 🙂 And I did indeed have the wedding gift figured out. 😁

I know what Rafe's wedding gift is gonna be 🙂

I spent a little time in Florida while in the USAF, including Tampa incidentally. The thing that I found most amusing was Florida's highest waterfall, which drops 100 ft. into a sinkhole and disappears into the unknown. -

35 ° F at noon here with an east wind of about 30 to 40 mph. I did some quick errands around town, and that's it for the day. Looking into a Florida vacation. -

I only left the house to go to the local grocery store, and I drove the three blocks. There's a howling east wind that is colder than hell. I'm glad I did the final yard work yesterday. Out on the river, the truly hardy (in wet suits) are kite boarding. Got my annual "Happy Veterans Day to my favorite Veteran" email from my sister, bless her. And took a two-hour geriatric nap. -

Veterans Day here, complete with plastic poppies given out by veterans' associations - at least in the past - maybe that tradition doesn't happen any more. Thanks for your posts about the 100 year celebration, not to mention your excellent poem. I was reminded that on the fiftieth celebration, I was a year into my military stint at an AF base in South Carolina. Another thing about aging - time intervals take on a different perspective. 😕 -

From the perspective of someone who is who is at that far end of the spectrum (a bit more than twice your age), that is a very good article. Finding things to keep one's body and mind active is essential. Besides activities such as hiking and kayaking, the best thing for me has been volunteering for trail maintenance, an activity I started last January in response to a specific local need. I'm not trying to stay young, but I'm certainly trying to keep up with the younger people I volunteer with, and with a high level of success so far. 🙂 -

The weather has finally turned "normal" here meaning it has been down to nearly freezing at night and not making it to 50º F during the day. I gotta get the lawn mowed quickly for the last time before it gets covered with snow. -

Opinion: "Faith" should always be followed by "in [object of faith]" at which point the remainder of the quote may or may not be a reasonable proposition. Sorry, the cynic in me is surfacing this morning. -
One of the things I like about this site is the ability to interact with others, both authors and readers. While it is a different form of "collaboration", I have recently been trading editorial time with another author. He has greatly contributed towards content for me, and I have hopefully provided some technical assistance for him. To be sure, this is a different relationship, but perhaps it is a reasonable training ground since some aspects of the principles you outlined also apply in that relationship.

I'm glad tim sent you some good suggestions. I had given your request for input some thought, but decided I didn't know you well enough to come up with a good idea. I think it is an excellent choice based on everything I know about you. -

What was the inspiration? -
It's those small, playful details that bring out character so well. 🙂

I don't know if I've seen the totem poles in the Vancouver area. Perhaps they are at the Ft. Vancouver historic site? I'll look. I don't know much about the totem pole presentations. I do know that there are style standards for Northwest Native American art in general. It's an art form I enjoy. Several are on my wall. I'm not sure about shape shifters as opposed to blood shifters, and Google didn't help at all.

Excellent! And do I need to start looking for wolves every time I go out for a walk? The Columbia River Wolf Pack outside Portland, Oregon... The sex scene was very well done. I hope bet Michael ends up dead.

“Seems we were right in our guess about that young man. It wasn’t just light reflecting off his eyes. So, we have an Elemental in our midst.” James’ tone sounded as if he were saying it was raining outside. LMAO! An absolutely perfect response for an academic. I love it! Zach, Ryan, and Jack raced into the kitchen, and quickly wolfed down their cereal, before heading outside to help their dad. That one produced another LOL!

I see why everyone was waiting on Mondays with their tongues hanging out. I don't plan to read past chapter 25 until the rewrite is done, but I may have to abandon that plan.

This product is beginning to have aspects of "Soma" from Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley -

I guess that means you're sleeping more, which would be a good thing. -
That was a fantastically detailed history of shapeshifters I'm noticing certain parallels between this and another story, although the level of detail is orders of magnitude higher here. This time the elder and the young listeners, and to an extent the subject of healing. Previously DNA transfer. Even though some of these concepts are natural in the genre, I'm glad I wrote before I read, in this case More clues. Maybe I should spend some time studying ancient mythology

Congratulations on the inexpensive auto repair, not to mention the ethical mechanic. I would say that you are a very wise mom. Mine didn't become that enlightened until the third child. That was two past me, unfortunately. -
I was just looking at my reading list yesterday and observing that nothing had been added here recently. I'm pleased that more will be arriving. 🙂
