The comments can be quite a show. Unhinged is probably a good term, possibly. But, I don't want to feed egos. Not in the least. I guess it is a series of "coming out" for the guys. Gavin the chapter before took the show with how he came together with Joel and now Colt took his turn. I am so sorry. I didn't mean for that to sound dirty, but it hit me right as I ended the sentence, but I won't backspace. You're welcome.

Light is what Joel needed. So I'm glad he got a good and light day. I liked writing them in that light. I know it may not be the most plot pushing, but at least for me, it felt like Joel could take a breath. He did lose the fight for the first shower upstairs, that's what Colt and Joel wrestled over. There's likely a shower in his future plans. Horses do stink when they get their musky sweat on you. Then Davin came along.

Yeah, I was never an all-night party girl. I had that curfew so I always made it to my bed, but I imagine a lot of truck beds, grassy spots, and just "I don't give a shit.." spots for sleeping. Tents wasn't something that I ever witnessed too many people opting for looking back. I just thought I'd be nicer and offer them for sleeping arrangements for my characters. I am nice, nobody say otherwise. Drunk + buttons doesn't seem like a good mix. Even if it is just jeans... hand coordination isn't the best. Party places are handed down, the torch passed on to the next. Especially fields, bends in the river, abandoned properties.. etc. There was this one family that were the "cool family.." that had four children of varying ages that allowed parties... and of course that party never got broken up in any serious manner.

Oh goodness me. I still have time to rewrite next chapter, a week. Yeah, a week. lol. Y'all seem to think Davin only has one thing on his mind... Joel seems to agree with you... I won't say what, but it's something my mother would have threatened to wash right out of my mouth with soap. Just so you know.

I don't think that's how Colt would've pictured it either, to be fair. Also, sometimes when I write a lot of dialogue, I will go through and just read the dialog to see how the dialog flows from narrative and between characters. When I was reading just the dialog portions of Colt telling Joel to relax his hips, etc. I sat back and said... "This is starting to read like Colt is coaching Joel on how to bottom..." because I didn't read enough for the context of horse riding to enter the equation. I left it as is though.

You're completely correct about drinking and party spots being handed down to new generations. I think my home town have historical signs in place for such things by now. I've have never dated a guy that wore a button fly at all. Is that a cowboy thing? I have no idea, but Joel is no cowboy, he doesn't want to play pretend at being one. If it is a thing it seems like Colt may be lacking in his button fly game. Tent erecting are for the sober, true story.

When you put it that way, it seems like Joel is in training to be a complete top. With the video of that party circulating, I bet there's a lot of people thinking they missed a hell of a scene if they weren't there. The ones that were probably thought.. "oh shit.." and poor Jaxton got the worst of it, but Joel didn't come out looking the best either, I imagine. He's not thinking a lot about Monday... not after Davin showed up at his bedroom door.

Yeah, she accepted the state of him, and he apologized. I'm glad you complimented Celia during all of that. It takes a lot of restraint, or it would with me. She treated him with respect and moved along without keeping it on either one of their shoulders very long. And yeah, part of that probably had a lot to do with how Joel reacted. The other three come dragging in, no apologies, but he made a point to. He does like to say the words when he runs up on something that shakes his nerves a bit. It is his go to.. 😮

I liked writing the "sibling" energy this chapter there was a hint of bittersweet there, but mostly it showed him letting loose and enjoying just being in their company. They were relaxed around him too, including him into their dynamic. A little lightness in a story needed to happen, I felt we were getting a lot of 'drama' and 'angst' getting thrown at him over and over. Didn't want him feeling like a punching bag... although, if he didn't relax those hips he would've felt like one anyway. You caught that last part huh... Joel is also a bit of an over achiever when it comes to control. I believe him when he says that he'll not do that again, because he didn't enjoy what came of it. Shit party and all... maybe if he had a good time it would've changed his mind. Celia probably believed him, she probably wouldn't have believed it from any of the rest of them though. Traumatically stolen. It was. Lisa Benton is one selfish woman.

Maybe the meds and the sleep took some of the edge off... I think I've only ever had one hangover... and I know it hits women differently than it does men to a slight degree. But yeah, it is a rough next day. Probably not the best for horse riding, especially in the daylight, sunglasses help, but they're not going to do the whole job... and then the heaviness. I wouldn't want to be on a horse. Joel is a good sport, I guess. And Colt didn't drink enough to be hungover, it seems...

I do miss riding horses. The more I write about their riding the more I want to get back on one. But, it is sort of a dying thing around here... there used to be large riding clubs, and such... now there's nothing much out there. There's not a whole lot of tension between Colt and Joel, no. The two finally got there... equal footing and all. Hope they don't manage to mess that up. Celia and Trace if they noticed are probably happy in the thought. Don't know how happy they'd be if they caught on to what dance Davin and Joel are doing though.
