    Chapter 1

There are stories that hit hard in the emotion department. This is one of them. Grief is many things to many people and you've managed to portray a lot of emotion in this first chapter. Great job tim.
  3. So far it is a happy Friday. I had a good experience yesterday with a retailer. I haven't had contacts to wear since right before we moved. I finally went to the opthalmologist last week because my primary told me I had to go. All was fine and dandy with the eyes. However, when I mentioned I wanted to get a new script for contacts, the doctor said he didn't do that and I would need to make an appointment with an optometrist. Well.. I know firsthand how long it takes to get appointments around here. So I decided to try Walmart, which is where I went in Florida. After trying for 3 days, I finally got through to the right person for appointments only to be told that the vision center takes our insurance but the doctor doesn't and I would have to pay $150 for an exam. I said no thanks, I just had a complete exam and only need to get an updated script for contacts. So, yesterday I went online to the insurance company's site to find a doctor. Saw one that books online appointments. Lo and behold the location near my work had a same day appointment available. Booked it. Went on my lunch and let me tell you, every single person I dealt with was pleasant and efficient. I was in and out in under an hour. Sent home with contacts to try. They took care of ordering more to be delivered to the house. Best part of all.... insurance covered all but $50 of a year's supply of contacts and the girl placing the order gave me a rebate form which will give me $100 back. I'm getting paid for the contacts lol. Score one for kbois! Have a good day everyone!
  4. You're so lucky Michael is such a good "cook".
  5. My my, oh what a wicked prince 😉
  6. Had my annual eye doctor appointment today. (Everything looks good). So of course, the one day I have to have my eyes to dilated, instead of being cloudy and overcast like it has been nearly every day since November, its bright and sunny (which...yay!). I stepped outside and thought I was going blind for a few seconds until I fumbled open the roll up sunglasses they hand you and stuffed them between my eyes and my glasses. LOL. I guess they hand them out for a reason. Today was a busy day. I made two quiches, one with onions, peppers and mushrooms and another one with kielbasa and sauteed onions. The eye appointment took way longer than I thought it would so I just managed to get the beef roast in the oven in time for us to eat at a reasonable time. Dinner is eye round roast, baked potatoes and asparagus. Banana cream pie for dessert. Have a good night everyone!
  7. Wayne's gotta Wayne. And we just have to put up with him.
  8. We'd just add a GoFundMe for your bail 😉
  9. Don't worry. We've got your back. Let Operation Hide-A-Yak commence! WE RIDE AT DAWN!!
  10. Just in case anyone was wondering... Key Details for Yak Ownership in Canada: Permits: Generally, no special permits are required to keep yaks as they are classified as livestock. However, some provinces, such as Saskatchewan, list them under regulations for animals raised for products. Identification: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency requires yaks to be individually identified with a specific RFID/UHF tag, often a combination of a Canadian tag and a secondary tag. Care: They are considered low-maintenance, requiring similar fencing and handling to cattle. It is important to check local municipal bylaws regarding livestock in specific, particularly if you are in a non-rural area.
  11. I vote for Micheal s Mental Breakdown. Although there is a city in Florida called Myakka. Michael's Yak Aaaaaaaaahhhh!!!
  12. Ahhhhh.... Now that we have moved into the season of below freezing nights and warmer days, I've rediscovered a car ride game I used to play every winter.......Pothole Dodging!!!! The area I'm in is probably at a level 2 or 3. I'm sure by the end of March I'll be at level 100 LOL!! So far it's kbois 100 and potholes 0. Have a good day everyone and dodge those road craters!
  13. Maybe I should suggest to my daughter-in-law that she look for teaching positions in the Toronto area when she finishes her PhD. I'm pretty sure tim could demonstrate a stitch or two lol. As far as hobbies go.... Its a good one to have ❤️
  14. Of the billions of people on this planet there is only one for whom I would even consider the kind of plan that involves a clandestine trip back to Florida to feed some swamp puppies. The rest of the world is safe.
  15. I think I can feel the heat from Michael's credit card melting from here lol. Have fun with all the cool stuff. We will need pics of finished creations.
  16. It's really not snowing again. It's really not snowing again. It's really not snowing again. It's really not snowing again. This is the only snowman I want to see.
  17. Driveway, walkway, back porch and Camden's doggy relief area are all done. Hubs did the driveway which was the biggest chunk and I did the rest. I don't know if we're getting anymore accumulation and at this point I don't flipping care. Snow sucks. I'm out. See you in the spring.
  18. Omg.... Finally a forecast thats gotten it right!
  19. It got me thinking too, and yes, I know how dangerous that can be. LOL! But ....... I think most of us have that one "ride or die" person who would do absolutely anything for us and never tell another soul. Which leads me to wonder..... Would you (not you specifically tim, but in general) knowingly break the law to help someone? In my case, there would only be a very few limited scenarios and only two, maybe three people I would do this for. As far as me breaking the law, there is only one major crime I would willing commit under very specific circumstances to a specific person who has rightfully earned my absolute hatred and deserves whatever is coming to him. Otherwise my moral compass is still intact. So what says you, peeps? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
  20. I've always hated doing taxes as math and I are mortal enemies. Thankfully the advent of online programs is most likely the reason I haven't been involuntarily committed or incarcerated. Ours are done and I had to do federal, plus two states(MA & CT). I lucked out with Florida as they have no state income tax. We are getting a healthy chunk back this year which is nice. I'll finally have heat in my car again. Yay! Just in time to switch to AC lol.
  21. Yeah .. ours went from 1-3 inches to 10-20. Dinner plans with high school friends and our French teacher have been postponed again due to Mother Nature telling me that if I'm going to run from hurricanes and swamp ass heat she's gonna throw a few blizzards and below zero wind chills at me. She's a fickle £!+¢#. I'll be under the covers with two pairs of socks on. Dammit.
  22. You and I.... if we ever drank together we'd either be dangerous or get arrested 🤣
  23. Be thankful you're on the opposite coast.
