Asa whistled along to the country tune flowing out of the truck’s speakers. His Sunday morning had been a breeze so far. The Robson farm’s four horses were an easy trim. Only one needed new shoes, which made his job more manageable. Two of the mares were pregnant and getting close to delivery, spending their days in the nearest paddock before being brought into the big barn at night. He’d left them barefoot, as it was safer for the foals once they were born. He was sure his next visit to the far
