Kage will forever live on as long as these four are alive. Yes, Elijah was the purest love Kage ever knew and I believe in my heart that is why his protection is extending beyond the grave. "Mangy he bitch" ... I'm using that later on.

I knew from the very start Elijah and Ashton's mating would be very different. I deliberately chose to leave out the nitty-gritty details because the focus had to be the connection Kage created. I've been saying all along that he might show up again. What better place and in what better way than during the ultimate expression of Elijah and Ashton’s love?

You're probably not far off the mark. I think Kage’s protection of Elijah automatically extends to those closest to him. No one could be closer than Ashton. Tyler is his brother in every way but blood so it makes sense that Austin is included because of his connection to both Ashton and Tyler. Make sense?
