@mollyhousemouse I found some jicama (still laughing over that lady's voice....HEEEEE-cuh-muh! At least I knew how to pronounce it at the farmer's market!) I found a recipe for jicama tacos that looks amazing. I'm going to try that tomorrow. Any tips on how to peel these things?.... keeping in mind I have a thumb that operates at roughly 50-60% of normal grip strength. @Mikiesboy the Greek chicken looks really good.... I'll try it after we get back from vacation. Five more days!! At least this week should go by fast at work. The managers from all of the Florida properties, plus a few from Chicago will be here for a two day sales training thing. I thought I left these "motivational sales training" seminars behind when I got out of travel. *sigh*

Sometimes the hardest things to listen to are the words we don't want to hear. Especially coming from those who love us. I'm glad tim got you on the right track. Forgiving yourself..... another one of those 'hardest things to do'

Ok...that made me laugh!

Saturday Salutations everyone! Trying to get motivated to go into work for a half day. Grocery shopping is on the agenda. My younger son really like the roasted veggies, he cleared out all the containers I prepped last weekend. Eighteen year olds can be bottomless pits! I can't go overboard on the food prep this weekend like I normally do. I donβt like leaving a lot in the freezer when we go away. I have a friend who learned that the hard way. @Mikiesboy garlic is one of my favorites. I just buy it already minced... too hard to do it myself with a bum thumb. (Hey a rhyme! π), but yeah....16 heads of garlic is a lot! Hope everyone has a good day!

That's amazingly good news molly! So happy for you and Phil.

Let your facial hair grow out and no one will noticeπ

I'll take your critters over gators, wild boar and coyotes. The gators and coyotes don't bother me but I get nervous when my son goes out to Myakka with his friends. Wild boar are nasty and dangerous. Cutting hair isn't hard. Trick is to section it properly and take your time. Unless Michael flunked cut and paste in kindergarten then you should be fine. π When all else fails...clippers. buzz cuts grow out fast. Man buns..... just nope. I've been too lazy to cut my hair. It's been growing for a year and a half now. I trim the front and managed to trim the dead ends off the back once. I like it long...just annoying on windy days when it's in the eyes..nose...mouth. I keep hair ties in my car but do I use them? Not often.

Wow... it's actually nice here in FL. Lower 90s but dry air and really breezy. The morning was perfect...nice and cool! I've got salad on the menu for tonight too.. along with some sockeye salmon filets that were on sale a couple of weeks ago and are thawing out. Water... yeah, just one of those things you gotta do. I'm fine with tap water...we keep a pitcher in the fridge. The only time I buy bottled water is if we're going on a road trip or right before hurricane season. Which I just realized is now... guess what I'm adding to the grocery list?

I lived in Maryland for the last round 17 years ago. My younger son was two and thought they were fun to catch and he wanted to play with the empty husks... I agree with you though... yuck! They can do some pretty serious damage to trees and yes they are freaking big ,ugly and loud. Happy Friday everyone! (On a positive note...I got into a pair of jeans today that had been too tight, fits perfect now so I'm happy!)

I guess this just isn't my night. I had a nice long walk with the dogs, came back looking forward to cutting up the cantaloupe and watermelon so I could sit down and relax with a nice bowl. Tendonitis makes cutting up fruit, umm, challenging. It's really hard to hang on to something that's juicy. It takes me twice as long as it used to. Got the cantaloupe done (of course sampling several chunks to make sure it was good) then onto the watermelon..... Bitter tears of disappointment. I only cut one piece and damned if it wasn't the blandeset most tasteless piece if fruit I have ever had. I didn't know it was possible for watermelon to have NO taste. Chucked it in the freezer to out with the trash and scooped up a bowl of cantaloupe. *sigh*

Trust me...the bugs here....*shudders* If anyone ever tells you that "they're just Palmetto bugs" RUN! Turn tail and run. They're giant roaches. That fly. π±

It's the tendonitis... makes my hand unsteady. Yup, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! π (But seriously.. do these things fly??)

My mother-in-law does that too and her lasagna is really good. I made quinoa tonight and threw in some seasoning and diced tomatoes to go along with some stuffed flounder. That stuff is just as bad as chia and flax seeds. If someone could explain how it ended up in my hair.. . I'd love to know. I do know how to use utensils....lol

I'm not a fan of cottage cheese either. I checked my Noom app and cottage cheese is a yellow food (moderate portions) while Greek yogurt is a green food.(best choice) Finally something that I like is the better choice for me!

I'm still amazed at some people's ineptitude. The previous manager sent specs in for one of the empty lots and she placed the driveway on the wrong side of the lot! Of course it didn't get caught until the construction supervisor came to measure and stake out where the house will be dropped. (in 3 weeks) Previous manager was supposed to have the floor plan reversed so the existing driveway could be used. Now it's adding $3500 PLUS the cost of pouring a new driveway. SMH... Seriously....how could you not notice a freaking driveway is on the wrong side??? Other than than it's been a quiet day so far. One more week. Just one. I need to get through the next 7 days. 168-ish hours. β

Probably. Maybe? π€ My Amish market has a whole section of spices, seeds and different flours. They're similar to sunflower seeds so that's where'd I look.
-
They're shelled hemp seeds. I've seen them occasionally, but never bought them before.

My dad bought a new Monte Carlo SS in 1976 for a cross country trip with my mom. It had an 8 track too. He had that boat of a car until they moved here in 2007. I think the thing only had 50,000 miles on it when he sold it. It was a church and Sunday drive car.
-
Can this be done in a bread machine? I'm not sure if I've seen hemp hearts anywhere around here. I have flax seeds and sunflower seeds though....π€

πββοΈ Love 60s and 70s rock! Brings back memories...my brothers used to play stuff like this all the time... on 8 track players π€π

It's more like Carry On My Wayward Sonπ

@Wayne Gray Same playlist.... tonight's ride home shuffle included; Train, fun, Kansas,, Pentatonix, Def Leppard and Daughtry. You still on board for the ride? π€£

I keep randomly laughing today because I had to click on the link for how to pronounce jicama. Now this lady's voice pops into my head out of the blue...hee-cuh-muh ππ€ππ€π€£ aaaaaannnndddd I'm laughing again!

Good morning y'all! I'm having trouble starting my engine this morning. Coffee didn't help. Been trying to move around some more to keep me awake. Sitting at a desk all day is not good so I've made it a habit to get up and walk around for a few minutes every hour or so. Plus I take the long route to the restroom. I'm also trying to take the really long route when I walk the dogs. That'll get hard to do once the full summer heat and humidity kicks in. Camden gets worn out quickly when it's hot even though we go after sunset. Hope everyone has a good day!

Then listen to it often! Writing is good for the soul. We need a Wayne story soon! I just finished up a story, all it needs is some final touches. I've also finished rereading one that I started and set aside. The characters have been nagging at my brain lately. That'll be my next project...delving into the paranormal world. It's fun not having to stick to human limitations.
