*venting ahead* I don't know if I should be horrified, disgusted or downright livid. I think I'm all three. We have a resident who has been given multiple warnings, both written and verbal regarding keeping her untrained, satanic little pomeranian on a leash and to pick up after it. This dog has been an issue long before I started working here. Lately we have heard from multiple people that she drives around on her golf cart, letting the dog run on the end of a 20 foot rope attached to it's leash and shit wherever it wants to and she doesn't pick it up. Today my manager D called her to ask her one more time to follow the park rules. She proceeds to yell at D and said she wasn't going to do it. D hung up on her. About 15 minutes later D goes into the back to use the kitchen when one of the maintenance guys who was in the office with me notices the whackadoo pulls up on her golf cart. So he hightailed it outta there and I tried to hide in D's office. This woman starts banging on our window and then starts yelling "I've got a delivery" over and over. Then she comes in through our office door which has a sign CLEARLY stating that office access is restricted to staff only. At this point I'm forced to come out from the other office. She then DROPPED 2 BAGS OF DOG SHIT ON OUR COUNTER!! I damn near lost it. I told her to get out. She keeps saying "I've got a delivery" in a sing songy voice. I kept saying "GET OUT". We went back and forth 4 or 5 times and I finally told her if she wasn't out in the next 10 seconds I was calling the police. She left. I hosed down the office with Lysol. As soon as D got back and I told her what happened she was writing everything down in an email to her boss to get approval to start the eviction process. WTF? I don't get paid enough for this.

Apparently my winter survival skills are ...... a bit rusty. I got everyone a couple pairs of those stretchy knit gloves for Christmas, myself included because I hate driving when the steering wheel is a block of ice. So it's 40 degrees this morning. On go the gloves. Only took 3 tries to get all the fingers in the right spot. Then I'm driving away and my husband calls. Yeah, um, grabbing a cell phone with gloves is like trying to grab soap in the shower....it can be done, but not easily. I missed two calls from him. Trying to swipe your phone with gloves on is also impossible. Finally managed to call him back after tearing off gloves with my teeth while driving. Got gloves back on at next red light. Tried to grab my giant tumbler containing my sanity in liquid form...yes coffee...it kept trying to slide out of my grasp. I could only drink it at red lights. The struggle is real. 🤦♀️ Have a good day!

I saw this online today and I think it's a brilliant solution: After watching two weeks of the total failure of the vaccine I have come up with a free foolproof solution on to how to distribute the vaccine to every person in the United States in a matter of two days. Every state has received millions of doses but have not had a plan to get it into the arms of people. Hours waiting in lines in cars, senior citizens camping overnight, politicians blaming every one but themselves. Every talk show and cable station talking about it. My solution is give it all to CHICK FIL A and they will administer it in their drive thru in two days. Problem solved Thank You in advance all you politicians.

@Kitt WTF? I still am amazed when I realize how many idiots like that actually walk amongst us and somehow function in society.

Welcome back!

Thanks for the kick in the ass tim...you said the exact thing I needed to hear! I'm going to stick with my gut and even though this is a supporting character, the whole story idea came about from this particular person's experience. Hopefully when I write it, it will make sense. (If not there's always the delete key 😬) So....minor gripe here....at my work letters were sent to every resident in September with the notice of the lot rent increase. I posted it in the newsletter for Nov, Dec, and Jan. There are notices in the mail room and there's a notice right above our drop box. So why TF did I get nearly 2 dozen checks with the wrong amount!!!??? It's not rocket science people!! Sorry....1st of the month after a long weekend means a gazillion checks to process. Add in payroll due by 10am and people interrupting every 10 minutes and you've got one stressed out office admin who really is not going to answer your damn phone call to listen to you complain about people speeding yet you bitched when we put in two little speed bumps. Gah...I need it to be 5:00. Getting some sort of take out for hubby's birthday today. Have a good day everyone! Thanks again tim!

I need a little advice from my fellow writers.....I'm waffling over whose POV to write from... When writing about a life changing event do you prefer to tell the story from the POV of the character it happened to? (Who happens not to be one of the main characters, more of a supporting character) OR Do you prefer to read the story from the POV of one of the two main characters who are listening to the life changing event story? I know I should go with my gut, but there's this little voice of doubt in my head (whispering to all the other little voices) that says to stick to one of the two main characters instead of introducing a new POV. Ugh...decisions.

You're on an egg roll today molly!

Moi? I never send my characters over bumps and potholes! Bwahahaha!!

With you steering, we can pretty much guarantee that the road will be rocky and bumpy. Wouldn't have it any other way Wayne! 😉

Way to tease us Wayne...thanks a lot. 😋

AGREED! 100%. Wayne's new story is a wonderful way to start the New Year!

Hi Everyone! As we wind down the last few hours of a year that pretty much everyone is glad to see go, I want to remember the good parts of this year. Even though it seems like the bad outweighs the good, there were still a few bright spots. I gained a great-nephew and a great-niece. My younger son is in a better place mentally now than he was a year ago. My older son seems to have found someone that he can share his love and life with. My husband and I have made it through this year without either of us losing our jobs. For all of this I am thankful. I'm going to approach 2021 not with any resolutions (I suck at keeping them) but with the attitude that this is a factory reset. It's like tim's post...time to write a good book and take each day and make the most of it, hopefully for the better. I owe everyone here a "Thank you" as well. Thank you for being here to listen to my rants. Thank you for making me laugh when I need it. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your lives and welcoming me into this wonderful online family. Thank you for reminding me that each day is to be taken one at at time and for sharing the good days and providing support on the bad days.

Good morning everyone. I hope it's going to be a good day. I'm back at work and my brain still has a lot of vacation sludge sloshing around. Good thing its a short week! ( @Mikiesboy...I thought of you and Mike this morning as I was processing checks. I had one drawn on a Toronto bank from one if our residents. 🙂. Hope your workday is easy!) Keep warm and keep calm and make it a good day!

I've actually been semi-productive today. Creative juices are still flowing. I've managed to finish chapter 5. Still a ways to go before it's anywhere close to being done. Now I'm just kicking back, one more glass of whiskey to enjoy before going back to work. A least I only have one and a half days this week. If only we could live off the income of that kind of schedule...lol. Enjoy your evening rick....and everyone else!

@Kitt , I agree with @spyke. Your daughter's BFF should have kept her fat trap shut. I'm sure you didn't chain your daughter to the stall when you had to make the difficult decision to do what was best for your horse. As for that other ignoramus.......you can't argue with stupidity. These are the same people who still think the earth is flat and you can catch a cold by going outside with wet hair. Rant all you want. We'll listen,

What did the monk say when he saw the face of Jesus in his tub of margarine? Now that you smiled....have a good day!
