    What to Wear?

Ah yes.... It would be wonderful - but places like that are disappearing fast. Only private property now is safe from modernisation that turns 'paradise' into a theme park.

Your wait won't be in vain, Chris.

Lots of men agree with you, Wesley. But it's getting dangerous to say so.

    What to Wear?

On Saturday Edgar filled the minibus with fuel, oil and water and drove it up to the cabin, curious to see what they’d done to his place. He was more than delighted. Overawed was his exact word, then for an hour he relived old pleasures by skinny-dipping with the two young men in the pool before Jarek drove him home so Edgar could be sure he knew all the idiosyncrasies of the vehicle. While he was away, Zeno took an old white T-shirt and, starting with the hem, carefully cut two, twenty-cent

Come on, Wesley - He's now got noble Mr Noble on his side - things can only look up.

You are approaching my stories in exactly the correct state of mind, Jeffrey... thanks.

    Cador

In a bedroom of a somewhat pretentious Mediterranean style villa on a plot of land far too small to display it’s doubtful charms, a slim young man gazed at his reflection in the mirror. Olive complexion. Sharply defined facial features. Dark, angry eyes. Hands clenching and unclenching as he prepared himself for confrontation. In an unbuttoned white shirt, slimness accentuated by black drawstring trousers, a gold chain at his throat, he could have stepped out of the Arabian Nights. ‘Fuck him,’ h

Thanks - Yes indeed! Challenges are coming - fortunately, my heroes are made of strong stuff... and when they are old men, conquered challenges will feel as if they were fun - if they survive. But first I need to introduce a few more characters whose lives become inextricably entwined with that of our eponymous hero.

Your camp sounds fun. Soggy biscuit? I'm a Renaissance Art fan, and just as nudity was a symbol of purity for them, so it is in my heroes - as well as sort of sexy.

    Preparations

Despite having only a few hours sleep, sharing a bed, and performing energetic horizontal gymnastics on waking, Zeno and Jarek emerged from their shower looking fresh and fit for anything. After a substantial breakfast they packed a holdall with the stuff Zeno would need, kissed Belle, hugged and brushed cheeks with Ari, promised to phone regularly, then drove into town to buy cleaning materials, tools and a week’s supply of non perishable food before driving up to the cabin. It seemed even
  12. Indeed - dumb, but cunning. She'd better watch her back too - getting involved with Irma Medlar wasn't a smart move..
  13. I imagine the headache would prevent logical thought. It was a fairly common torture among Romans for disagreeing with them, and Christians for disagreeing with dogma, and... I read somewhere - Humans are an inventive lot.
  14. Are you a mind reader?
  15. Thanks srchr35, Rest assured I never really hurt my heroes... they're tough enough to withstand whatever get's thrown at them.
  16. I agree.

    Bindi and Adele

Bindi had been honest about one thing; there was a party at Angie’s but it wasn’t to celebrate her and Jarek’s engagement; it was just the usual Monday night bash for some of the council staff. For a few days she’d been toying with the idea of surprising everyone with the announcement, figuring that then Jarek would have no choice but to agree. She knew him well enough to be sure he wouldn’t embarrass her in front of all her friends and say they weren’t. He’d argue later, but he’d eventually get

Unlikely - they're too old and disillusioned I reckon.

    Marriage

I agree - it is pathetic, sad and bleakly amusing.

    Marriage

Indeed. It seems to be the fate of everyone who enters a relationship with unreal expectations and an unwillingness to communicate honestly.

    Marriage

Communication certainly is a huge problem - I agree with you. How to fix that? I think that honest communication/education about genuine, evolved, valuable differences between the sexes that have ensured human survival, have to be addressed/ taught in childhood - not ignored in the hope all will sort itself out later. Males and females are not interchangeable - they are very different in many ways - and that is good. However, the modern world is so far removed from that in which our behaviours evolved, it isn't strange that couples have a hard time resolving their lives. I find it tragic.

    Marriage

Their first lively lusts gratified, the young men lay facing each other on the bed, curious fingers already seeking new ways to pleasure, stimulate and reignite passion. The next time it was slower, more deliberate, more centred on the desires of their lovers and therefore even more rewarding. Eventually they lay back, sweating and satisfied. ‘Do you really think it’s a magnificent organ of desire?’ ‘I think the last hour has made that perfectly clear.’ ‘Yours is more beautiful.’
