@imogene_arant has a valid point. Jay would absolutely, without giving much away, lay down ground rules to his family. Given his position as the favorite, this wouldn't be out of place for him. I'm sure he's done similar things many times over the years. Golden children tend to have a weird amount of authority.
I love that despite it not being the picture perfect weekend, it was still a good time. I imagine it was a relief for Loren that Jay's family has faults. Not so intimidating.
