    Chapter 10

Bill has definitely done something he shouldn't have done, but will he get his just deserts? Only time will tell. Manny fostering Jason is an interesting proposition, but they don't know about each other and would they be a suitable match? And does Manny have what it takes to look after an active teenager? The Major meeting Kathy Sledge and her sisters and learning a few dance moves is a hilarious thought, but I'm not sure his health could take it.

    Chapter 9

Sister Judy is a formidable woman, I suspect she has a soft spot for The Major. The Major is stubborn, but not foolish, I think he realises that he has met his match with Sister Judy, lol. The Major knows that the lads have genuine feelings for him, now he needs to accept those feelings. Steve and Kate will put Danny first, Steve's reference to 'his boy' lets Danny know that and Danny's response allows their relationship to grow.

    Chapter 8

I'm happy that you can see The Major for the man that he is underneath his grumpy exterior, I have a fondness for him, as I do for most of the story's characters. I fully understand your feelings toward Bill, but The Boot has a policy of trying to help all who are homeless. As most Australians are either British ex-pats or of British descent we have more in common than many realise. Sidewalk? that would be walking sideways to me, lol.

    Chapter 1

It may be a project for the future, but definitely not yet.

    Chapter 7

Jim and Jason are very resourceful and repay The Boot by providing a small amount of tech' for The Boot's guests. It's not what many expect from homeless people but it goes to show don't want a 'hand-out', they want a 'hand-up' which is entirely different. Recycling is a brilliant way to avoid unnecessary landfill and if done properly it adds to our depleting resources. Thank you for your continued support.

    Chapter 6

Apart from rhyming names, the only thing they have in common is that they have important roles, although different, in the story. Kate and Steve are special people, as are most foster parents. The financial rewards for fostering are very minimal, but as you rightly say the emotional rewards are priceless. Thank you for reading, but don't miss out on your sleep, and importantly look after Kiki, she needs special care in the later years of her life.

    Chapter 5

A small part of Jason's past is revealed at a later stage in the story, I'll not give any of it away as I don't like to give spoilers. Your suspicion of an infatuation is correct but you will have to read on to discover if it goes any further. No real back-story for Beccy or Jim has been written, I'll consider that as a possible future project. They could be interesting stories, thank you for putting that out there. You will discover more of what the future holds as the story continues. 😀

    Chapter 4

Sister Judy Evans is a gem. She doesn't just care for her patients, she cares about them. The Major is a complex man who, naturally, has a past that he doesn't talk about, although it can be read in 'Lost Soul - The Ox'. When he lowers the barriers he hides behind he is a different man. As for what John/Christian can do, well we have to keep hoping, but he does know a lot of people in different organisations.

    Chapter 2

I'm happy to see another comment from you they are a joy to read. Hopefully, The Major will make the sensible choice, the lads have a high regard for him and do have strong feelings for the man responsible for getting them help when they needed it. Rescuing homeless animals is a very important thing to do, homeless animals need our help too. You are doing for cats what I do for people, I appreciate and thank you for that, imagine the joy if one of your re-homed cats was placed with a rehomed homeless person, two lost souls rehomed and finding love is twice the pleasure.

    Chapter 1

You are right it isn't good for The Major, fingers crossed 🤞 Ian and Kevin found him in time. Ian and Kevin are good lads and are influenced by the good friends they have made at The Boot. I hope that you continue to enjoy the story, please be aware that this story has not been properly edited but will be re-edited in the future. I love reading your comments.

    Chapter 9

There is so much happening that even I have trouble keeping up, lol. There are a lot of good people out there, we just don't hear much about them, and they like to keep it quiet too. I'm glad that you enjoyed the guitar scene, I hope you liked the links to listen to some of the music too. Your comments mean a lot to me, thank you for your support.
  18. It's keeping me busy . I've got a lot of writing to do so that I don't let my readers down. How's life down under?
  19. It's probably jealousy, they wish they had our good looks and charisma.

    The Boot

Thank you @Summerabbacat for the meaningful comments, they are appreciated. As you rightly point out this is a worldwide problem that is getting worse by the day. It is a problem that affects communities and industries too. Many areas of the world are complaining of a shortage of suitable applicants for many jobs. Some of these people are homeless and cannot get a job because they have nowhere to live, but they cannot find somewhere to live because they have no job! Easing the homeless situation may not solve the labour shortage, but it can help to ease it. I hope you continue to read and enjoy The Boot World, I look forward to any comments you care to leave.
  22. @wildone you can safely take it that you have been forgiven for Monday's error, Aunt May's Magic received a lot of favourable attention following the blog entry. After speaking with Aunt May she has asked me to pass on a message to you. Should you suffer either of the fates that @Bill W has predicted there will be a ticket for a meal on the 'Friendship Menu' board reserved just for you if you can get to the cafe, lol.
  23. It was a welcome visitor, I had slept through my alarm and should have been up.
  24. I woke up to a visitor at the front door, now they have gone I need another coffee then get on with what needs doing.
  25. Still feeling a bit groggy, but I'm good, lots of housework and lots of writing to do.
