  1. And in the British Isles it's usually called a cockerel. [EDIT] Cock is the generic word for any male bird (no matter what species) - with Hen being the feminine. Which reminds me of the following riddle:
  2. Hi, bro! I'm about to head out the door and have a socially distanced meet up for coffee and cake with one of my friends.
  3. Today (Saturday 20th June) is the Solstice. Which means that for those of you (like Mr. B.) who live south of the equator, the days will start getting longer again. So, cheer up, M.B., summer's on its way!
  4. This would likely be me if the temperature ever got that high here in Ireland...
  5. Hi, Albert!
  6. This is what it looked like before I converted it to black & white:
  7. Hi, clo, hun! Hope you're doing okay.
  8. Wow! Praise indeed! ❤️
  9. I'm honestly not sure what variety of rose it is, Gary. It was growing against the boundary wall in the lower garden. I pruned it back almost to the ground at the end of last year. It's since sent up new shoots, some of which are about 5 foot (1.5 meters) tall, and have quite dark red flowers.
  10. Well, it's Friday night, so last chance for me to upload this week's black and white photograph. This is week 12 of 52. Almost 25% of the way there.
  11. Hi, Albert! Hope everything's good in Albertsville.
  12. Hi, Page. I hope all's well with you and yours.
  13. Hi, young Albert.
  14. Good afternoon, Val! Cool here, overcast and looking as though there may be showers. Will probably spend the day moving some of the remaining items from the rented place, and cleaning tiles and floors. Supposed to hand back the keys this day week.
  15. Afternoon, Gary. "Buy one get one free" day, today, is it?
  16. Even I was able to laugh about it (the next day).
  17. You sure were, bro!
  18. Ah, sure, now! I survived. And I learnt a useful life lesson that day.
  19. Because I use a peppermill to grind my peppercorns freshly, I am unlikely to add too much pepper by mistake. But I do remember once as a child (maybe 10 years old, or so), when mum used to buy ground pepper and put it into a pepper shaker, the holes in the top of the shaker were blocked, so I took the top off and tried blowing the caked pepper out of the holes. What happened was that the pepper, instead of doing what it was supposed to do, decided to blow backwards into my face (and eyes). I think it took about ten minutes for my eyes to be able to see again. Actually, I thought I had permanently blinded myself.
  20. Belated "hi" back to you, young Albert.
  21. Good morning, Page. You're up early...
  22. Nicely done, Gary! I can particularly relate to the sentiments in the first piece.
  23. Gary will be pleased to see that his Anthology poetry has finally been published (and so am I)
