  1. All good here, thanks
  2. Hi there, Albert! Hope all's well with you.
  3. Well, if AccuWeather is correct (and it normally is) it doesn't look as though there'll be any sun to be seen where I live between now and Tuesday.... And when I scrolled further down that page the forecast isn't good for the rest of next week either. I'm just hoping AccuWeather can't predict all that accurately so far ahead... [EDIT: Those temperatures are in Celcius, by the way]
  4. I saw frogs hopping across the road this evening when I was driving. A sure sign that the days are getting that bit longer and spring is on its way.
  5. Hey, Page. You can keep the snow, thanks all the same.
  6. You lucky man! Didn't see the sun at all today here. Indeed just about all we saw was rain. (And wind. Mustn't forget the wind.)
  7. How ya, Gary! You've (again) caught me checking out CoTT just before I head out for a while... Mebbe chat yous all later
  8. Yea... I'm aware of that research, and the fact that some people have that reaction to coriander. I suspect different people's reaction to marmite may have a similar genetic link...
  9. I once read that a good thing to do if you're trying to sell your house is to bake bread shortly before anyone comes to view it.
  10. Not to say that they are better (because that would be a bit like comparing apples and pears), but I can think of other smells that (to me, at least) are at least as good... Like, for instance, freshly roasted coffee beans, newly cut grass, the scent of freesia flowers, and grilled bacon, to name just a few.
  11. And what about the gooey melted cheese? Do you use that as some sort of sunscreen?
  12. Hi all, and bye all... Spent most of the day pottering about the "new" house, doing a few jobs inside (as the weather was far too wet for outside work). Have to head out in less than an hour for some voluntary work I'll be involved with this evening. Left it a bit too late to cook a full meal, so I made myself a quick snack to keep me going. Toast covered with a small layer of mustard and thyme, then sliced tomato sprinkled with chopped coriander leaf, all covered with thinly sliced vintage cheddar with freshly ground black pepper added before putting back under the grill for two minutes, and then freshly cut rosemary sprinkled on top. Yummy! And it will certainly keep the wolf from the door until I get home in about 5 hours time.
  13. Happy Thursday to you as well, Gary And at least today's guy looks a lot happier than yesterday's did (Even if he does need a shave...)
  14. Maybe better to buy a boat with a motor. Less stress on your shoulder than rowing...
  15. If you can get here, you'd all be more than welcome.
  16. I actually moved my barbecue materials to the new house today. Will probably be a few months yet before it gets used, though...
  17. No, not yet. Probably not till April at the earliest.
  18. Storm Dennis Today wasn't too bad. But it looks as though the worst of the wind might be tomorrow. And my county is one of the ones listed with an Orange Wind Warning... Could be worse. I've nothing planned that needs me to use my car, anyway.
  19. It does seem to work the same as before. Apart from the fact you have to join the club before you can post anything to it.
  20. It's already arrived. But this one seems tame compared to last weekend's.
  21. A is as good as to a blind 🐎 (Sorry. )
  22. Hey, Albert Took me a while to work out CoTT2 had become a club, rather than just a chat... Wondered why I couldn't reply at first to Clo's "Butcher" comment.... Then realised I had to join the club before I could reply.... I'm too old for all these changes (not!)
  23. But what will this butcher do with your heart once he gets it? Sell it to one of his other customers?
  24. And.... to quote our illustrious author: "Don't forget Vee."
