It sounds almost like the setting for some sort of fantasy or horror story... Trapped inside an Ikea store... following the footsteps painted on the floor... never seeming to be able to find a way out... occasional glimpses of exit doors... but every time you move towards one the display stands move together to block your escape... sinister low voice coming over the tannoy speakers... speaking your name... saying you must buy something... or you will be trapped forever... nothing on display even looks worth purchasing... desperately reaching for your phone to call for help... but you have no signal... hours pass (or has it been days?)... you suddenly realise that you've already been down the aisle you are walking along now... trapped in a time loop... or a nightmare... wondering if it is all just a dream... and wondering whether you will ever wake up...

Well it's now well into Monday, so hopefully your long weekend in Ikea is coming to an end... (I've never been to Ikea, but some of my friends have told me that they could spend a whole day in it. I don't think any of them have ever spent a whole weekend in it, though. Not even a short weekend. )

Yea, I sort of suspected it may have been those two young men. And I'm eagerly awaiting part two of The Ox. I just wasn't sure if they may have actually been the Major's sons or something....

Another interesting and well written chapter, @Mancunian. I'm wondering who the two young men in the photographs are. They obviously mean/meant a lot to the Major. Let's hope that JJ/Jason's living situation gets sorted out to everyone's satisfaction... And Bill definitely needs his wings clipped.

It's only because I know the darkness will end that I am able to get through it. And I reckon I need the low points in my life. If only because they make me appreciate the highs more fully.

Well, as I understand it is for the Autumn Athology, and the final submission date for that is next Friday (15th November), I assume it will go online sometime after that How soon after the 15th will depend upon how many submissions there are, I reckon. They may not all be released on the same day.

Sorry, Albert... If I could think of a way of sending all the rain we seem to get here in the west of Ireland your way, I would gladly do so...

6°C (43°F) here. Cloudy and rain as well. Not to mention it starting to grow dark and it's only just after 4pm... I don't like this time of the year. Hopefully I can keep the worst of my S.A.D. at bay until the days start to feel as though they are getting longer towards the end of February...
