Indeed! And I don't know why, but your use of the word lizard there reminded me of the following piece of acrostic poetry I wrote around 12 years back when one of my online friends kept complaining about lizards invading his house:

An iguana mounted a daring escape on top of a firefighter’s helmet during a blaze at a house in Northamptonshire, England. The agile lizard evaded the flames after a faulty reptile heat mat in the living room of a property in Whitworth Avenue, Corby, started the fire late on Wednesday.

I can see what you mean about the impression of an animal face. Purely an illusion, though. And I'm glad you liked the rough border. I experimented with several before I settled on that particular one ("Torn Paper"). I thought the jagged edges sort of mirrored the jagged edges of the flames. Just out of interest, and for comparison, here's a copy of the original colour photograph:

So I decided to edit one of my camera phone photos from two days ago to use as my Week 41 offering in my attempt to take and upload one new monochrome photograph every week for 52 weeks. It is of the bonfire that I had in my back garden. Although initially I was burning garden waste (tree and brushwood cuttings, and similar) that I had accumulated over the summer and autumn, I also used it as an opportunity to finally dispose of some floorboards and skirting boards from the new, old house, that had been removed because they were infested with dry rot. This photo shows some of those being burned.

Do you mean a wide-angle photo? That's certainly a possibility. But during this particular challenge, every photo I have used so far has been taken from either inside the garden, inside the old stone cottage, or inside the house itself. Not sure if what you're suggesting would stay within that theme. But I might give it a try for maybe the final shot of the 52...

I may have to actually take one (or more) first... The only photos I have taken so far this week have been of the bonfire. And they are only camera phone ones. I'll have a look at them and see what I think. May decide I'll need to take some with TN...

Hi, Page. Interestingly, even though they are members of the kingfisher family, Kookaburras aren't really fish eaters... "Kookaburras are almost exclusively carnivorous, eating mice, snakes, insects, small reptiles, and the young of other birds; unlike many other kingfishers, they rarely eat fish, although they have been known to take goldfish from garden ponds. Thanks, Gary. She does have problems, and the link provided lists some of them. The sad thing is that the DUP (Democratic Unionist Party) that she represented, is the majority party in the Northern Ireland Assembly, effectively has a veto over the adoption of any attempts to introduce progressive legislation by the Assembly, and is basically a "Christian" fundamentalist organisation of the worst sort (And deliberately I put the word Christian in quotes, as I see nothing Christian in their rhetoric whatsoever).
