  1. Still not forgotten that Guarded connection, eh? Good.
  2. He's having a rough go of it, certainly. Stick around. We'll get to the solution to some of Orson's problems soon, I promise that.
  3. Misled, but not lied!
  4. Try harder next time, droughtquake.
  5. Thanks for commenting, Mancunian. I have been known to kill major characters in my stories, so this is a valid concern. Though, I will never do so lightly. Hrmmm... a number of you have now suggested Orson somehow finding his way to the campground. It's a great idea. Sometimes I wish I had reader comments before I ever wrote something! We'll see where Orson ends up. His story isn't over, though it has definitely changed tremendously. Where one dream dies another is born.
  6. Ohhhh... thanks! Fixed it!
  7. Thanks for commenting, Chris. Yeah, losing a leg is a huge obstacle, made even harder by the lack of a family. Orson does have Clay, but he is due back in California in only a few weeks. What he'll do after Clay leaves is still to be determined. Those kids are having fun, aren't they? They have never really been in a place where they can just be who they are with no repercussions. Well, now they can - at least for a little while. I'm only half evil. 😇 😈
  8. Maybe I did. Just a little bit. 😛 I'm glad you feel better. hehehe
  9. "Orson!" The young officer seemed to crumple, his right leg first, then the rest of him. Orson's back half stuck out in the line of fire, and after a short pause the bank robber's pistol resumed firing. Orson pushed his torso up off of the pavement, a terrific grimace of pain on his face. There was blood on his right leg, glistening wetly on his dark uniform pants. "I can't… leg doesn't work!" Orson struggled to pull himself completely behind the cover of the car. Clay reached and grabbe
  10. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, tim. And the reactions of our irreverent readers!
  11. There’s no way I have time to reply to the amount of crazy I woke up to here. I will say only - I’m glad the chapter has elicited a reaction from you all. Lol
  12. Thank you for that. I wouldn't steer us wrong here. At least, I'll do my best not to.
  13. Thanks, Parker. I'm sure "excitement by book" is a medical diagnosis your provider can use to justify the additional medication. Evil of me... I know. Cliffhangers are just wrong, eh? Well, we'll find out what happens to Clay, Orson, and the bank robber next chapter.
  14. Thanks, Dave! 🙂 That means you're a part of the evilness of my scheme! Don't let that stop you from enjoying the reactions of the other readers, though. 😛
  15. Awww... I'm sorry. Yeah, I know. It wasn't very nice of me. I do hope you find a reason to like me again in the next few chapters!

Haha. Yep! That's great that you can hang onto him as a friend. I guess that worked out great. 🙂

This happened to me when I was younger. Hook-ups turned into friends. Weirdly, when that happened we often stopped messing around and just stayed friends. Now it's the opposite! I think that's just smart - avoiding sex with guys you don't like/trust. Back in my wilder days, I had a lot of fun with guys I didn't know at all. That really has shifted for me.

It's pretty wild, the variety possible, and your experience is another example of that. Thanks for your comments! I think the more people see things like this the more they'll realize that they're not strange, or weird, or whatever. Being different is the norm! As counter-intuitive as that is, I firmly believe that now. Yeah. Sam's awesome. He's a lot of fun for us both, and he happens to be a great guy too. Win-win!
  19. Thanks, Jeffrey! I try to make sure there's a reason for a scene/chapter ending like that. There is. Sunday will be here before we know it! 🙂
  20. Thanks for writing, tabaqui. That tells me I’ve done a “good” job! Right?
  21. Thanks, Fae. Yes. Mason is well aware of that fact as well! Greg seems willing to trust Mason to do the right thing, so maybe Clay will do the same. I suppose we'll see, eh? Jeremy is still holding his cards close. Yes, he gave in, he let himself enjoy Mason and the careful way the young guy treated him. Yet, there's still something there.
  22. Hehehehe... ah, the infamous chapter 19 of Guarded! That was definitely the worst cliffhanger I've ever written.
  23. Thanks for the comment, Mancunian. A little whiplash, eh? Yeah, I can see how that'd happen. I think this cliffhanger might be the worst I've ever written. Ohhh... well, no. Nevermind. *slinks away out of the light*
  24. Thanks for commenting, Chris. Yep, Jeremy finally caved to Mason. Greg is still Mason's protector, assigned the task by Clay, and he definitely reminds Mason that Jeremy is on thin ice if Clay really wanted to come after him. As for the last bit. Maybe it was the robber who was shot. We just don't know yet!
  25. That's the best part, I think - letting the mind travel down the many paths that are possible. This is beginning the real "meat" of the story. It took some time for us to get here, but now that we are, things will happen and many lives will be affected.
