Thanks for reading and commenting, Parker! I really like the ability to do my spin on werewolves, and the creation of something new in Wolfgang. Thinking about why werewolves yearn for a pack, and what happens if they don't have them was a great exercise. Then you have Evan. That was a character that originally wasn't intended to be much more than a bit player. But... he's so... memorable. Elder McAllister may continue to show up in other stories down the line. There's a lot of spiritual ground to cover, so why not? Shawn... he's going to turn out to be more complex than he appears. ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm glad you focused in on that interaction. More is coming for him, certainly.

If the wolf inside spent its energy on keeping pack members happy and safe, then it'd have less to make trouble for Jed. So you might be right. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, to all of this. ๐Ÿ™‚ Additionally, Wolfgang thought of himself as unique. But... the entity within Evan called him "A Tempter...". Not "the" tempter. As if it had encountered beings like Wolfgang before, and it knew what he was. Wolfgang has never had to learn to defend psychically, and without flexing a muscle it becomes weak. He'd be capable of it with work, but ... he didn't know he would need to. Now, he knows! Thanks for reading/commenting! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have a lot of native cultures here in Northern California. The new moon spirits are my own invention, but I'm following tracks laid down by other tales and legends in tribal lore. They fascinate me as well. This story has turned out to be a lot of fun to write, so I'm thrilled people like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Those are great things to consider. In addition to Daniel's desire, Jed's wolf also wants a pack. He's born to lead one, and he has yet to allow that. The wolf doesn't care if it has humans or werewolves in its pack, but it definitely wants one. Evan has turned out to be a far more interesting character than I initially anticipated. Someone said once that I excel at "quirky" characters. I think Evan qualifies! Thanks for the great comments. I'm glad you're digging the tale.

Thanks, Thorn! Shawn is such a dude. He's getting laid, and he doesn't have any commitment to adhere to. Definitely, something he enjoys. I'm happy you liked the scene with Evan. They seem to know something, don't they?

Evan is what I call "The real deal". He's an antenna, utterly tuned in to the spiritual world around him. There's another special bit about him that may be revealed down the line too. We'll see. I'm glad you like him. That interaction... I really was going for creepy/interesting, and I hope that came through. Yes. The spiritual realm seems to recognize something in Wolfgang he himself does not. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for reading/commenting, Fae.

Thanks, Chris. And yes, Shawn and Jed have done their thing for a long time now. "Why have a girlfriend when I get sex from you?" Shawn really is just a GUY when it comes to sex, and he doesn't seem to have any sort of desire to settle down with anybody so long as Jed is in his life. Wolfgang and Franklin would definitely be fun. ๐Ÿ™‚ Look at you, planning an orgy! My readers are so naughty!

Wednesday, April 10th (First Quarter-Moon) Jed parked his Toyota pickup in front of his father's shop. The building was situated near the top of Humboldt Hill, looking down on the city of Eureka. He got out and heard the sound of the table saw. His father was hard at work. He would put in fourteen-hour days until the day before the full moon. Jed walked in through the sliding door. Daniel Polis carefully ran the board through his table saw, safety goggles on his face and gloves on his ha

  13. Almost there, Fae. It would take a string of apocalyptic weather to result in a 20-day delay. It might be stormy this week, but the sun will shine long and strong enough between now and the 27th to get it done.

I wasn't trying to invalidate what you wrote - only share my own perspective. I think you have said incredibly insightful things about their dynamic, and much of it I agree with. I've used that quote in my writing... it's powerful when dropped in just the right place. ๐Ÿ™‚

I gotta chime in here. Ben has already tried things with multiple women. Maybe you're right and he needs to give more men a shot, but relationship dynamics... that's something he already has experience with. He has shown himself to struggle with them, no matter the sex. I don't think changing partners will help that, because it's not all on Travis. Maybe Ben needs someone to take the lead, grab him by the chin and tell him how it's going to be. Because he hasn't gotten very far picking his path when it comes to romance and connecting with another person on that level. Is Travis perfect? God, I laughed when I wrote that. We all know that he's so freaking broken. So is Ben. I keep coming back to the quote: "Sometimes a broken piece is the only one that will fit." That's what I see here. There's a reason they keep orbiting one another in this way, despite everything pulling at them. I TOTALLY agree. Ben made a huge mistake, trying to buy Eric out of Travis's life. It's only a matter of how that particular mistake blows up in his face.
  21. Man... chapter five of Silverwolf has been so difficult! I realized 1/2 through that I was writing a scene that should appear next chapter instead... so, cut that out, trying again. That'll make the next chapter that much easier to write though, right? lol Have a great day, everybody.
