I see Leo as a sort of physical manifestation of guilt, mourning, and the process of moving on. Such things are very real to those feeling them, and there's no one right way to get through that process. I feel for Ty. It sounds like Dad was trying to force him to have a "normal" relationship or pay for his "degenerate" ways. Luckily, he couldn't imagine a world where men could marry each other. I hope that works out well for both of the guys. Nice chapter, tim. I'm gonna read it again.

You're not wrong, Tony. Maintaining love takes work; that's true. And what I'm saying is that the decision to put in that work isn't really a decision for me. It's decided already. It's just something I'm going to do, because I must. And ... I'm okay with that.

I can feel the self-admonishment. The "you should be past this" in Lonnie. And this contrasts pretty hard against the views of most around him. So many are saying, "take your time," "go and be still," "do what you need to do." And then he has Leo. This line is telling. I undressed and slipped into our bed. OUR bed. He's not ready. And that's okay.

Maybe it is a bit soon. The going estimate I see most often is that we need a month to mourn for every year we spent with someone we lose. Of course, there's a lot of variety there, too. Regardless, I bet Lonnie could use a friend at the very least. If things turn into more than that ... well, that's just gravy.

Awww. Lonnie is on his journey. There will be bumps and even a little crash or two along the way, but he's moving forward. Keve could be good for him. Hell, they could be good for each other. One way to find out. Ask the man, Lonnie! Nice chapter, tim. I understand how hard it is to move on, and Lonnie is still somewhere in the middle of that. I am interested to watch his journey.

I'm glad you're still reading. Yeah, it is getting sad. But as I've said to others, it's not about what looks to be an upcoming loss. It's about what is left behind. You're right about our three guys leaning on one another. They're lucky, all of them, to have found what they did. It will make the coming weeks bearable - not easy, but bearable.

Oh, man. Lonnie is so wounded, and you write him so well. What do we do when someone we love is just ... gone? How do we think about moving on without guilt? Lonnie knows Leo would want him to do exactly that, but honoring our love and moving on sometimes feels at odds. And no matter what we tell ourselves, the guilt can still suffocate us. That's what I see in Lonnie. He's trying to hang on, and let go, and move on, all at once. I've been there. Anyone who has lost something precious has. Nice job, friend. xoxo.

You’re welcome. Thanks for reading. And no. Chris and Miranda largely got along well until Chris left Tad. That made things even harder for her - she lost someone she liked, and she’s dealing with the diagnosis for her brother. Its a hard time, all around.
