I feel for you. I’m told the sun will shine again ... and I know it’s true. It’s just hard waiting.
-
Thanks, Tony. 🙂 I'm glad you liked it.

Yes indeed! Grant is beginning to crack a bit under that pressure you mentioned, and he's starting to really feel the guilt. Mainly, he's bothered by keeping something as precious as John's letter from Troy. Thank you for reading and for the comment, tim!

We like being geographically isolated. Speaking of geography ... we're still Northern California. 😉
-
I've been called a masochist ... maybe that's a part of it. 😉
-
Thank you, Parker. They just connect deeper and deeper with one another. It's a part of the process of growing into a couple, and they're on the way. Will Grant find that moment? Well ... we'll have to see.

Hehehe. I'm glad you're so invested. Thank you for commenting, empress. We'll get there. 😉

Thanks, kbois. 🙂 Yep, you're right about Grant. He's not perfect, obviously. Now, he has so much to lose he's feeling more and more trapped by his previous lack of action. I hope you can see how someone might have ended up in his position ... sort of a slow boil. Troy really loves Grant. He knows it, and Grant does too (which adds to Grant's sense of stress since he has more to lose!). How he reacts depends on what Grant does. We'll find out. And the numbers for highways is just the most efficient way to name them! I'm from North-Eastern Kentucky, and we referred to roads by their numbers. The 101, the 5, the 299, etc. Same in Northern California, I've noticed. I mean, the real Northern California, not SF. SF is central coast, no matter what people say. The inclination of New Englanders to add unnecessary words to name their roadways (hehehe) is one I couldn't know I didn't know until now. Now I know. Thank you for that. 😉

You're missing out. It's great to get out, get super cold and chilled to the bone. Be tired, sore, and maybe have a new bruise or two ... then go back to the lodge or to your room and warm up, rest, and relax. The counterpoint of experiences makes the time relaxing way better.

Thanks, chris. Grant really has to figure himself out, because if he doesn't he's going to hurt Troy, and the rest of their friends. Grant did come out (sorta) at work. You're right, that's a good thing. Let's find out what's next on Thursday.

Thanks, molly. Yeah ... things are beginning to really bubble up for Grant, and that's spreading to those close to him. Doubt is an awful thing ...

17 January 2019, Thursday 4:51 p.m. "Is that it, Rhett? Our last patient?" Grant looked at the computer on his desk. He'd just exited the examination room, finished with Mrs. Hayes' appointment for her diabetes check. Rhett was on his way to the exam room. "Yep. I'm going to hand over the diet information and get her scheduled with the nutritionist. I'll be right back." He left, and Grant sat back in his chair with a smile. "Oh yeah. Vacation time." They were due to head to the bed a

*gasps in outrage* *raises finger in preparation to refute* *thinks* *sighs* *slowly puts finger away* *nods with sheepish smile.*

Thank you, AC. Wait. You mean I didn't invent the rhyming structure?! *sigh* 😄

Thank you, chris. Short and hopefully mostly sweet. 🙂

Thanks for the comment, Bft! Mmmm. Yes ... that massage scene was fun to write. I'm happy you enjoyed it. Troy and Grant sure did!

LOL. I love this demon I've become. Some hellacious torturer who just toys with the emotions of readers, and rejoices in their tears. hehehe 😄

Thanks, Butcher. There's a lot more coming for all of them, as you know. 🙂 And I have made a few, subtle changes to make things flow and fit better. I'm glad you can feel that, even if you can't necessarily pick out the changes. The ski trip is coming! 😄

Thanks, Tom! Oh man. The military was full of men like them. Confident, secure, close, and uncaring what others thought about them. Just, languidly hanging off one another, grabbing each other's ass, even a random kiss here or there when the other guy wasn't paying attention. And yes ... they really were straight. They just didn't care what anybody thought. It was fun.

Hehehe. Me? You write one book with a surprise twist, and suddenly you're the devil! *giggle*

Well, Troy revealed to Brian back a few chapters that he wasn't on the loan document, which meant Grant lied about how he knew Troy used to live in the house. Up until now, Brian kept that knowledge under his hat. At this point, he felt he could truly trust Grant with his best friend ... and so ends Grant's "assessment period." Who is Brian to even do this? Well ... he's a friend, and a concerned one. Thanks for commenting, Parker. 🙂

Thanks for reading and commenting! Does anybody know what they're getting into when they have that first kid? I mean, really? Hehehe. Grant is finding his place with our little friendly bunch. Ahhh ... the Journal. I'm not the one torturing you, that'd be Grant! I mean, if he'd have handed it over early it wouldn't have been nearly so bad. But now? Now we're two months down the road, they're a couple, and he has yet to tell Troy about the book. Oh, Grant! He has definitely not handled things as well as he could have! Massages should be had regularly. They're good for ah ... stress release.
-
Good thought. Now, Grant doesn't just have Troy to lose. If the friends have to choose, they'll almost certainly choose Troy. Though, it'd hurt all of them to do so, Grant would potentially lose them all. Hehehe. You must really have felt betrayed by Guarded. Good! 😄 Thanks for the comments, drought!
-
Thanks for the comment, Chris! For most of us it would have been hard to trust Grant. Brian knew he had lied ... but he gave things time for Troy's sake. Grant does have that journal left to deal with, doesn't he? Then there's a baby on the way for our little group. I could handle a backrub like that anytime!

Wow. Okay, this is a hell of a comment. 🙂 See? Georgette isn't all bad! She's just held hostage by herself, and the expectations of all her friends. Her and Aaron are going to make such good parents. It's those who really want it so badly and have to work for it that appreciate what they have when it finally happens. And they will. That scene with Brian and Aaron was already in the story. You just keep hoping for that brojob! 😛 Brian is a good man. He's intense but is such a good guy. They're all good people. 🙂 The rest of your comments concerning Troy and Grant's closeness are all great. And there's a lot more to come on that front, certainly. The ski trip approaches ... Let's see what happens there. Thanks for commenting!
