Conner brought up a very valid point... if Jacobs intentions were what he attemptempted to excuse them away as. What would have happened if Jacob decision went the other way? Or in that case Matt's? Is Valerie really as at peace with the situation as she claims to be? -or- Could they all just be running away from what they really want? all interesting questions... What do you guys think? -
Leave the Mounties alone! That title is a bit of a stretch... no one will believe there are any RCMP's in Arizona... unless they are on holiday or something. Then how does a Mountie figure into it? Was Emoe involved in less then steller dealings in Canada??

Hey Nick, First off let me just say welcome to GA! Then wow, I can't believe you actually read Failure... Most people didn't really car or it beyond the first few chapters. Hence the new and Improved, and different Living in Surreality. Also the name change was due in fact to the radical transformation in the story itself... The characters are indeed the same, some of the story is the same, but all new nonetheless Thanks for enjoying! I hope coming chapters are as enjoyable. Steve -

Ok! I take full responsibility for wonderful dreams which may manifest themselves after reading certin chapters THANKS for the word of mouth! I'm sure it will help as I have yet to decide on wether or not I will post LiS to Nifty.org. I find it curious that no one has pointed out the fact that neither Matt or Valerie fought off this supposed "seduction" I dunno am I? ...according to response I'd say yes were there a string of "This sucks" I'd say no Conner is the author and is passing it to me to post By the way... are there no guesses other from Cj on who the original Character was that touched off this?? Steve -
I dont mean to point out the blaringly obvious... But, your halo is broken...

If you did that you would loose a chapter of subliminal messeging.... Or, youd just reinforce what you have already put out... sneaky goat... :ranger:

How about 12? or do you have something against the number 12?

First, I'd like to welcome Tom(lostone), Bondwriter, and Jay to the thread. Welcome guys! now all that's left is THANKS!! I was really worried about the reception of 13, and glad to find those fears unfounded! I'm tickled that you guys have enjoyed it so and humbled as well. To be blamed for global warming and errant dreams is a great Honor :king: And yes connor... I still think there should be an 'after' smilie I promise to keep my eye out for drug/dragged issue I seem to have. Geesh next you be telling that the plural of Goose is Geese not Gooses... Steve -
So the week has been pleasantly surprising. OK so it all really started on a Wednesday about two weeks prior. I was doing one of my usually evening IM sessions with Viv and she mentioned that she was going to Disneyland on Sunday and asking if I was gonna go. I was like damn that is just bad timing all around. I had family arriving back from a cruise that day and got christened the chauffeur that was to usher them home from the LA pier. So I had to decline the invite to meet her in a fairly secure public place. All was not lost though she checked the blackout schedule and found she too could not make it that particular Sunday. Being the problem solver she is and think at her computer, she quickly moved it to the next Sunday, I tentatively agreed Work that week sucked, One employee had been in a car accident on 12/30 and 'bumped and bruised her knee' and after visiting 4 different doctors found one that would put her out of work for a month. but whatever. Another employee's appendix had burst so he too was out of commission. I didn't know if I'd be able to make it Sunday after all. Someone was smiling though, Sunday managed to be fully covered with minimal force and I was off to Disneyland! I got to the park about 1pm and texted Viv to say I'm here! She told me they were just getting off the monorail after lunch. I got stuck on Main Street. First at a store (more about that later... ) then in the bakery for some cookies and coffee, no coffee for me I don't drink the stuff. All the while I'm being pelted with the same question. "When are you going to meet her?" Like five times in a row. I wanted to send her a text saying Doll SAVE ME!!! lol Anyhow it was decided that Viv and hers where heading over to Pirates. So I figured ok Ill go wait there and lead the chattering sisters to a brick wall in between a trash can and stroller parking. Alright so that wasn't me best idea ever There I sat waiting, eating my cookie scanning the crowds moving in the three directions I guessed she would be coming from. I sat there for about 15 minutes and wouldn't you guess it she spotted me before I spotted her! women It was fun, My sisters chattered nonstop about things you really shouldn't talk about in public much less polite company. No it wasn't that more to do with the aftermath of a burst appendix. It was gross... When the weren't rattling on about the inane and cruise ships they were holding up the works by shopping. So Viv's hoard and I decided on the Jungle cruise with out them. We got split somehow. Viv's hubby and her kids ended up on one side of the boat with her and I on the other. The mean park guy ruined the magic there. That and she has been on that ride one too many times she knew the spiel better then the doofus piloting did. All and all I'm looking forward to doing it again, Maybe with one less sister So's we can talk shop or something! That was last sunday... Thursday I posted Chapter 13 of Living Surreality. I was seriously worried about its content. I was pleasantly surprised with the overwhelmingly positive comments thus far. Thanks guys you rock! Steve

Yup... Sorry about that I use confusing wording sometimes... Which character, mind you it may be a main character, reoccuring character or, a minor character, launched what was to become Living in Surreality? now that, that is cleared up. Living in Surreality Chapter 13 is online... now... so go read already! -
So I have a question geared to the general reader of Gay stories. If I posted in the wrong forum forgive me (pretty please!) DomLuka brought up an interesting topic in the Writers Corner : The oppisite sex... While he didn't ask what I am about to he got me thinking. What do readers do when the encounter a Straight scene embeded in gay fiction? Ignor it? Scream and run? Stop reading and never touch another of Authors stories again? What would you do, and would it have any impact on your decision to continue to read? Me personaly, I dont care much as long as it is the context of the story & characters and not out of left field somehwere. Steve

Adding to the tricky goat conspiracy... ... Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why this story is set in Lonsome Valley?? --Sits back and waits for the appearance of the BLUE RIDGE-- :ranger: Steve

That would be phajartkin would you believe word acctually has a translator for that?!? As for the differing speech patterns... Each character is their own, so yeah they have differing speech patterns Jacob's vocabulary is more relaxed where as Matt's in more formal to a point, though I have laxed it somewhat with Richard no longer around. I noticed awhile back Blackbird asking how writers start there stories in the writers forum. For me it starts wih the character, at least one and the plot builds around them as well as other characters. Oh heres an Idea. Whomever can guess the Character this forrey started around will get an advance copy of an upcoming chapter. Yay a Contest! Anyhow yeah I always start with the character first for they are how the story is told. The plot emerges from the complexities that their life hands them, after all everyone has a story. Sometimes you just have to dig a little to find it. -
Just a curious question. How intimate is the scene your portraying? Form the girls point of view? Her boyfriends? Have you tried writing it outside of the two characters involoved? try writing it from the vantage point of someone else other then those involved. Perhaps one of the other characters watching and wishing they could have that. If getting wrapped up in the emotion is what is making it awkward remove the emotion or wash it down through a different perspective. Just a thought Steve

I'll argue that point for surely had he not been arrested he wouldnt have been burned... Style, Hrmm I'll go with round, those square ones just never got off to a running start. And if you really want the size brand and speed rating of a tire in a online story you really need to sort out your priorities... (yeah I like that line... it sounds better in english then my tongue...) -
I don't have much to add... While yes reading the line 'Guys we have a problem...' makes my skin crawl (Only cuase in the end My theories of Mr. Williams being behind the whole thing will be proven.) Im looking forward to the moment when at last He shows up pounding on the door interrupting whatever our friends may or maynot find themselves doing half dressed, and uttering the line 'Guys we have a problem... there isnt enough beer.'

*edits to add* - catches some, adds others And my dear you have an Oxymoron in that statement... Alas, I know you're well aware of this. and are only using poor Emoe and I to further your own agenda of literary domination. Using us ususpecting smucks to give you glowing feedback and fine tune your subliminal messeging. :ranger: I'm onto your tricks.... Steve

you really make this too easy... metal ones this has been answered in the story... but as a reminder, Midnight. I'm going with rubber ones, of the vulcanized variety. Radials even my bad... that would be Chapter 14, as 13 being of perenial bad luck (Mass arrest of those templers by the King of France on a friday 13th of October) Steve -
