[Dan Cronin] I, Daniel Neil Cronin, being of sound mind, hereby declare this to be my last will and testimony. In the ever increasing likelihood that I do not make it home alive, I leave all my possessions to be split equally between the children of my sister Alisha. All money shall be held in trust for them until they reach the age of eighteen. My sister is not to be one of the trustees. As for Greg.... Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Dan Cronin] Why is Greg just standing there? He looks very nervous.... Oh, fuck! I’ve just realised what it must be. I keep forgetting that all this is new to him; he’s almost certainly a virgin. I have to be very careful tonight. If I make a wrong move, he could get scared off, and with our relationship just starting, that could be fatal. [Dan Cronin] This isn’t too bad a place. It definitely has a country feel to it, but I like that. Shane took me to a hotel in the city once, and it was very flash but it lacked the homey touch that I can see here. I’ll admit that this has been an excellent idea. Getting off the mountain, and to a place where we can just relax and be ourselves, is going to make a big difference to our relationship. Greg and I will be able to talk about all the important things that we just couldn’t do up at Fal

[Dan Cronin] That’s it. My time at the snow is now officially over. I’m feeling really... odd. I can’t think of how else to describe it. Last year, I was depressed because it meant I was on my way home to my family, and another eight months or so of having to pretend. This year, I’m still apprehensive about going home, but I’m also elated about who I’m heading back with. I’m not sure what will happen tonight, but I’ll be happy with just having Greg’s company. Simply being with him does a lot

[Dan Cronin] Digging out cars is one of those painful parts at the end of a fun time at the snow. I’ve done it a few times, now. I do my own car regularly, so I can make sure everything is working, and when I need a little extra cash, I volunteer to help dig out the cars of the resort guests. There are always a few who are either too tired or too lazy to do it. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Kelly Reed] Mike needs to get a reality check. He told me that if I left to say goodbye to “the poof,” then don’t expect him to be around when I got back. I’m not scared. He forgot that we only booked that room for one night. We’re back sharing with Garret tonight. If Mike isn’t waiting for me when I get back, then he’s going to have to apologise before he has a place to sleep tonight. He’s good in bed – scratch that, he’s great in bed – but his attitude is beginning to get on my nerves. It

[Garret French] Kelly is being totally unreasonable about this! I’ve been so considerate all season, and now that circumstances beyond my control mean that I have to start entertaining in the room, she’s not cutting me any slack. I’m not like her and Mike, who are at it all the time while they are together. At least that’s what I’ve been told. I’ve never actually caught them because I’m usually otherwise, er... occupied. [Garret French] I’m not completely lacking in shame! I just don’t think sex is something to be ashamed about. It is a fantastic way of showing affection for someone, and I’m just an affectionate person. It’s something that should be done in private, but if we’re interrupted, it isn’t something that we should embarrassed about. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Garret French] It was subtle, but Dan’s shoulders slumped when Greg stepped aside just now. From what Dan told us, Greg is just out of the closet and very nervous. He’s probably so used to not showing signs of affection that it was an automatic reaction. Dan’s told us that Greg needs time, and that he won’t be rushing into things. That’s when he asked me not to tease Greg anymore. I noticed it was a request, not an instruction, which told me how much Dan was being affected by all of this. Wha

[Kelly Reed] If those two think I’m going to go all girlie and gush over how wonderful it is, they’ve got rocks in their heads. Apart from the way the bastards decided to try to give me a heart attack, I think it’s great news. Dan deserves someone like Greg, and I’m really happy that those two are getting together. It’s a big loss to the other girls, though, as I thought Greg was going to be good catch for someone, someday. I was right about that, just wrong about the sex of the person doing t

[Garret French] Dan the Man strikes again. My gaydar definitely needs a tune-up. I’d picked up on Dan, even before he’d told me that he’s gay, but I never suspected a thing about Greg. Now I understand what he was doing last night – he was checking Dan out! The sly dog.... Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Kelly Reed] I’ve never thought the bosses are homophobic. If they were, they probably wouldn’t have taken Dan back this year. But I’ve never thought that any of them were gay, either. For the life of me, the only two ways I can see for Dan to have gotten Garret his job back is to either sleep with the big boss, or have some sort of blackmail against them. Now, if it’s the former, he’s a better person than me. I couldn’t do that.... Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Dan Cronin] Whatever happened to “and they lived happily ever after...”? I’m going to have to tell Greg that by coming out to me, it is going to mean coming out to the other two, as well. I just don’t think I can hide it from them. Naturally, that’s also reminded me about homophobic Mike. At least we have a couple of days to work out what to do about that situation. I don’t think this is a good time to tell Greg about him, but I’m going to have to tell him tonight. I can’t hold myself to a p

[Dan Cronin] Oh, shit. I’ve just realised exactly how careful I have to be. Greg’s just told me that I’m the first person he’s told. From the way he’s standing there, I’m guessing he’s also a virgin. He doesn’t have the faintest idea of what to do, or what to say. If I move too fast, I may scare him off. If I move too slow, he might get frustrated, and go looking elsewhere. I have to judge this exactly right. How I’m going to do that is something I just don’t know. All I can to do is to trust

[Dan Cronin] I have to be the happiest person in the world, at the moment. That’s assuming that I’m not dreaming. If I am dreaming, I don’t want to wake up. This is what I’ve been wishing for, and I don’t want to take any chances on it getting away. Now all I have to do is to make sure I don’t stuff it up.... [Chris Everington] This has to be the first time that Paul and I have had such a different opinion of someone. I can’t see how Paul can dislike Dan so much. Even after Paul’s made accusations directly to his face, Dan still hasn’t taken offense. Am I strong enough to insist that I want to see Dan again, once we’re in Melbourne? Paul may take it the wrong way, but I really think Dan is on the level. While Paul’s been slow to trust for as long as I’ve known him, this is the first time that I’ve

[Paul Wilson] The fucking bastard! I’d like to call it cheating, but I can’t. We never said we had to take the home trails. I was startled when he first headed off in what I thought was the wrong direction. I considered following him, but I wasn’t sure if it was a trick or not. As it turned out, it wasn’t, but I doubt I would’ve been able to keep up with him on that particular run. The other annoying thing is that he absolutely refuses to rise to any of the baiting I’m doing. We’ve been chat
-
[Paul Wilson] Finally! I know these home trails well, and I’m sure I can ski them at least as fast as Dan. I’m also bigger, so once I’m in front, I can block him from passing me. I’m going to enjoy putting him in his place. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Chris Everington] There is still tension between Dan and Paul, but most of it seems to be initiated by my boyfriend. Dan is taking it in his stride, as if it doesn’t matter. I wonder how much is because of that Alexander guy. Dan told us all about him, and about how he’d lost all ability to trust as a result of the rape. I didn’t say a word. Paul, and only Paul, has the right to tell his story. Dan mentioned what he believed had happened to my boyfriend, but neither of us confirmed or denied

[Chris Everington] Yesterday, I would’ve said I was too old for a snowball fight, but now that one has started, I couldn’t resist joining in. Dan’s shown good judgement in starting this by jumping Greg. It relieved the tension in the air, and put everything back onto a playful footing. The fact that Dan told Greg without any prompting from us, also has to count in his favour. I’ve decided I like the guy. I just don’t understand why Paul can’t, too. I’m sure it has something to do with the att

[Dan Cronin] Now that is interesting! Paul hasn’t told Chris that he was going to out me. Why is that? It really doesn’t mean a lot, as I was planning on telling Greg, anyway. But it’s strange. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Paul Wilson] What is the slimeball up to? That was the absolute last thing I would have expected him to say. What did he tell Greg had happened to me? And who the hell is Alexander? After what I’ve said to him, why is he defending me so strongly? I still don’t like him, but unless he’s playing a complex game of some sort, he may not be as bad as I’ve feared. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Dan Cronin] After all he’s been told, Greg still doesn’t understand. He’s being a spoilt brat, and I’m going to have to slap him down. Hopefully I won’t have to be too harsh. I have a lot of respect for Paul for what he’s gone through. I don’t expect him to ever confirm it, but I’m pretty confident that I’m right. I will not tolerate Greg putting him down. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Paul Wilson] If I have to say something positive about the slimeball, it’ll have to be that he keeps his word. Of course, he knew that if he didn’t tell Greg, I was going to do it myself, but it was better coming from him. I’m glad we can get this out in the open, now. Greg will be on the look out for the slimeball making a move, and I can give him advice on what else to watch for. I’m still not happy about leaving today, but I don’t have any choice. We have to get back to work. Please use

[Chris Everington] I’m glad we caught Greg, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Dan with him. Last night was a disaster. Paul was almost manic with fear. I was proud that he didn’t collapse. Instead he held it together until we got back to the lodge. Once there, he broke down and cried. He was still aware of me, so he hadn’t retreated again. I just held him until he eventually fell asleep. I was half-afraid that Greg and Dan would show up to watch the third Star Wars movie, and I was prepar
