[Paul Wilson] What’s Dan up to? He’s dropping into the slimeball category really quick, the way he’s going. He can’t try anything here in public, but if he’s after a cheap thrill, he’s engineered the opportunity perfectly. I’m not happy about this, but my hands are tied. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Chris about it, and I can’t even whisper it here – it’s too noisy and I’d have to speak loud enough that someone may overhear me. [Dan Cronin] Greg’s a good looking guy, I think he’s got a chance of winning. He’s not exceptional, like Paul, but he’s got a smile that will melt the heart of any girl. He might even attract the attention of someone and get lucky tonight, which should make him happy. He’s shy enough that having a girl chase him may turn him off, but he deserves to have the chance. I wouldn’t mind a better look at his body, either, but that’s just an added bonus and not really that important. Fantasizing about

[Chris Everington] After a nervous start, I’ve decided that Dan is a cool guy. I now recognise that all he was doing previously was teasing Paul and me. He also has a great, if slightly wacky, sense of humour – the cocktails he ordered proved that. I don’t understand how he and Greg met, but I’m glad they did. Dinner tonight has been exceptional. Greg’s a nice guy, but I don’t think the conversation would have been as spirited as it’s been, if it had just been him, as he seems a bit introverte

[Paul Wilson] I’m not sure if this has any special meaning, but it’s obvious Dan has a sense of humour. I also can’t see a straight guy ordering a drink like this, except as a joke. I think this goes on the plus side for evidence that he’s gay, as well as on the plus side of whether or not he’s okay or not. It’s still too early to judge him, but he’s certainly not as bad as some of the guys I’ve met. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Dan Cronin] Even if a wet T-shirt competition is not my ideal entertainment for the night, it should appeal to Greg. Sometimes friendship means compromises, and this is one time that I’m quite happy to go with Greg’s preferences instead of mine. I want him to have a good time, because all I really need is good company. What I have to do, though, is avoid getting too drunk. I think I’ll offer Greg a three for one deal on the cocktails I’ve ordered. As for the drinks, this will be a good chance

[Paul Wilson] I’ve got the chance to say something to Greg now, but should I do it? I wish I had had a chance to speak to Chris privately before now, but we haven’t been alone since Dan arrive. Even if he doesn’t have a gaydar worth mentioning, Chris understand people a lot better than I do. He could advise me on what to do. Dan’s not a bad looking guy, and he presents himself well, but I know, from the experience of guys hitting on me, that even a slimeball can put on a convincing facade. I

[Chris Everington] Greg seems to be keeping quiet about this afternoon, but his friend doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of the word discreet. Why Rob hasn’t picked up on the fact that there is something going on, I don’t know, but if they keep this up, it won’t be long before he works it out. Hopefully, he’ll be safely away with Diane before that happens. I don’t know what’s got into Paul, though. It’s almost like he’s flirting with Dan! I’m not jealous, because I know how solid Paul’s

[Dan Cronin] The impression I got of Greg while we were out skiing seems to be correct. He’s one of those all-round good guys. At least he’s obviously really fond of his sister, and her boyfriend, if he’s willing to help set this up for them. It would be nice if I got along with my sister as well as Greg gets along with his, but Alisha killed that idea off a couple of years ago. She and Dad are just so much alike. Neither can really accept that I’m gay. Alisha wants nothing to do with me, and

[Paul Wilson] He’s definitely got sex on the mind. I can’t afford to stay out of this, so let’s see if I can play the game of innuendo as well as he can. Maybe I can deflect his attention away from Greg for awhile. Chris will understand, once I get a chance to explain it to him. Please use the BACK button to return to the main story.

[Rob Skitter] I didn’t really get a good look at Dan at lunchtime. I have to say, I’m quite impressed! He looks like he’s ready to go pick up a girl for the night, and if he takes Greg under his wing, maybe Diane’s little brother will get laid tonight, as well! I’ll have to see if I can get a quiet word with Dan at some stage this evening. He must know which of the local girls would be willing to show Greg a good time. Besides being a thank-you for letting me ski powder this morning, even if h

[Paul Wilson] Shit! I didn’t expect this, but my gaydar has just gone off big-time. Dan’s gay! Steady down, now. My gaydar has been wrong before. If only Chris had it too, so I could check with him, but he’s never been able to pick who’s gay and who’s straight. He told me that’s the reason he was at the bar where he met me so often – it was the one place he could be pretty sure that all the guys there were gay. I wasn’t sure this afternoon, but that was a highly unusual situation. Tonight,

[Diane Rider] There are times that my little brother amazes me. This is one of those times. After the nightmare start to the weekend, he’s doing everything possible to have a good time, and to make sure everyone else is also having a good time. This is why I don’t want anything bad to happen to him. I’m glad he’s not gay, as he’s too good a guy to be hit with the pain that’d be thrown at him by bigotted fools if he was. I’m not sure he’s strong enough to suffer through that, so I’m happy he wo

[Rob Skitter] I should have known that my good day couldn’t last. Greg did me a good turn by allowing me to go off skiing both this morning and the afternoon, and I’ve had a feel-good buzz going right up until now. Even when Greg was late, the concern hadn’t really touched me too much. Deep down, I knew he’d be okay. What I didn’t expect was that it would be Diane and Chris who are doing their best to annoy the hell out of me. Are they playing some sort of game? “Let’s see who can get Rob ril

[Diane Rider] Rob has never mentioned anything like that to me before. I didn’t realise it could be dangerous up here! Of course, I’ve always been with Rob and we’ve never been that drunk, but I overheard one of Greg’s friends say that Greg doesn’t hold his alcohol very well. Am I going to have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t drink too much? How am I going to stop him if he does? Paul seems to understand what Rob is saying, so maybe he and Chris can look out for Greg when I’m no

[Paul Wilson] It looks like Greg has decided to forgive and forget about the incident this afternoon. I presume this means that Chris caught him just before he came inside. Plus it was a great day to be out skiing. That alone was enough to put me back in a good mood, and it looks like it had the same affect on Greg. Chris and I will just have to be a bit more careful about our next little tryst. Greg’s put up with a lot from the two of us in the short time we’ve known him and it’s just not fai

[Rob Skitter] I’m glad Greg’s okay. I know Diane was getting frantic with worry, but even I was getting concerned about how late it was getting. I know Diane had told me to go straight to the ski patrol, but I had planned on checking at the Frying Pan first. If it was just a case of dropping in for a drink before heading back, that was the most likely place he’d be. Either Greg’s a quick learner, or Dan’s a good teacher, as I certainly wouldn’t have taken him down the home trails on his first

[Diane Rider] I’ve been slowly panicking for the last hour. I expected Greg to finish early, as skiing uses muscles that he wouldn’t normally use. I remember how I was at the end of my first day. Rob had to spend almost an hour slowly massaging my legs back into life before I was able to get up and start walking around again. My baby brother, however, is strolling in like he doesn’t have a care in the world. Doesn’t he know that people can get lost in the snow? He went off with a total strange

[Chris Everington] I’m glad I kept a discreet watch from the windows in the lodge. I managed to see Greg approaching with enough time to concoct a plausible excuse to head out. The fact that Diane had confided her plans with me helped as well, as she also wanted me out of the lodge. I just got to pick the time so I could speak privately to Greg on my way out about keeping the incident of this afternoon quiet. I’m just not sure of whether Greg is going to be nice to Paul and me, or whether he’s
-
[Chris Everington] With it being such a great day outside, Paul and I thought we’d have the lodge to ourselves for a few hours. How were we to know that Greg would drop back in at just the wrong time? We’re certainly not making it easy for him. We’ve been trying to not rub his nose in the fact that we’re gay, but circumstances keep conspiring against us. At least his friend Dan seems extremely tolerant. Maybe he will help Greg get over this embarrassing incident. Paul and I should probably tr

[Diane Rider] I think I’ve put my foot in it again. I’m not doing anything right at the moment. Instead of coming over as the concerned sister, I’ve insulted Greg by making it look like I don’t trust his judgment. Greg could have told us who was going to teach him, but I suppose he thought it was none of our business. I can’t show it in front of Greg, but what I really need now is for Rob to take me into a big hug and tell me that everything is going to be alright. I want to cry, but not her

[Rob Skitter] Joking aside, this could be serious. He’s an adult at eighteen, but I don’t think he has a lot of street-smarts. He probably thinks he’s doing us a favour by organising someone to teach him so we can spend some more time together, but does he know enough to be able to pick someone who isn’t going to rip him off, or get him into trouble? How can I tell him that the idea’s fine, but I’m happy to teach him? I think he’s already picked up on the fact that I’m not that keen, but I don

[Rob Skitter] After expecting the worst, and then thinking I’d be missing out on the rare appearance of powder snow, I’ve had an absolutely awesome morning of skiing! Despite the time spent teaching Greg, there still weren’t a lot of people out there when we arrived. Paul and Chris were there before us and the three of us had great fun. It’s a pity Diane couldn’t enjoy it either, but she had fun skiing down the groomed sections. We still met up at the bottom of each run and took the chairlift
-
[Diane Rider] Greg’s getting really frustrated. Even though it’s only been a few weeks, I had forgotten how hard the first few days of learning to ski are. I’m having second thoughts about leaving him here, but at the storm on his face when I start to raise the possibility, I think it’s better to disappear for awhile. I don’t think this was such a great idea anymore. He’s not gay and that was the main reason for bringing him along. He’s been stressed out over Paul and Chris and now he’s gettin
-
[Diane Rider] I wonder what Rob has offered Greg to make him say that. Greg is normally pretty shy in strange places, so offering to be left by himself isn’t typical for him. Maybe he’s still resenting things from last night and doesn’t want us hanging around. Damn! It’s so hard to work out what is the right thing to do. Are we better off leaving him to his own devices or hanging around and making sure he has a good time? Rob’s keen to go and Greg is obviously backing him. It’s only for a fe

[Rob Skitter] I take back every single bad thought I’ve ever had about Greg. If he were a girl, I’d kiss him. I get to ski powder, and Diane gets to thank me for teaching her brother. Nothing could be more perfect! Greg is definitely back in the books as a great guy. Yesterday must have just been shock. He’s certainly doing a fantastic job today.
